How to Trigger Fear of Magic in The Sims 4

When you use your fairy abilities on sims you may trigger fear of magic in The Sims 4.

Not all sims want to have a fairy do weird magic on them, and they may develop a life long fear!

This is a requirement for the discordant fairy aspiration that comes with The Sims 4: Enchanted by Nature.

How to Trigger Fear of Magic in The Sims 4

To trigger a fear of magic on another sim you need to do a fairy interaction that has a negative intention. So first, you need to become a fairy! These interactions require you to have perks purchased that you’ll find under the manipulation category.

The first option is to shift the other sim’s luck, you’ll need to purchase both the shift luck and the shift another’s luck perk because they are tiered.

Once you purchase this perk you’ll click on a sim and go to the fairy menu and choose shift luck and then choose decrease luck. This only works with negative magic, so increasing their luck won’t work.

The other option is to purchase the cure or apply ailment which will let you give any of the available ailments to another sim with one click.

To use this to trigger fear of magic in the sims 4 you’ll click on the other sim and under the fairy menu you’ll click apply ailment. A menu will appear and you can give them any of the ailments to make this happen.

Note: You can only trigger this on regular sims, meaning it won’t work if you try and do it to other fairies or any spellcaster sim if you have The Sims 4: Realm of Magic.

When you succeed at triggering a fear of magic the other sim will get a +3 Scared moodlet that lasts 2 hours. This moodlet is called Paranoid from Magic that says “Experiencing ill-intended magic has your sim on edge. Just the hint of a sparkle makes them think about running and hiding.”

Pro Tip: Avoid doing this in other neighbourhoods than Everdew. You really shouldn’t do this in the Coast of Adhmor! If you do too much magic in other areas you can become a problem fairy which means you can’t get fairy dust from your daily rations!
