How to Cheat the Weather in The Sims 4
Sometimes the weather can ruin your sims day but thankfully you can cheat the weather in The Sims 4!
Unfortunately, many of the cheats to change the weather are blocked unless you have certain mods that allow you to use them (sorry console players).
Cheating Weather Without Mods
If you want to cheat the weather without mods you don’t have a ton of options. The only thing you can really do is change the season entirely. You can use the cheat code seasons.advance_season to have the game go to the next season (i.e., to summer from spring).
You can also choose a specific season with the seasons.advance_Season X cheat code where each season has a number.

Another thing you are able to do is cheat lightning strikes which is incredibly fun. There are two ways to do this, the first way will strike a random spot and you’ll use the following cheat:
- weather.summon_lightning_strike
The other thing you can do is have the game lightning strike a specific sim. To do this you need to get a sim ID for your target sim which you can do by using the cheat code:
- sims.get_sim_id_by_name {first name} {last name}
The game will give you an 18 digit number that you’ll put at the end of the following cheat code:
- weather.lightning_strike_object {sim ID}
Just be careful you don’t do this twice in a row because of death by lightning strike!
Cheating Weather With Mods
There are so many cheat codes that are hidden and not available to players which is so annoying but with the All Cheats Mod you can have access to all of them again.
If you install this mod you’ll be able to use any of the below cheats to change the weather to a specific type even including things like thundersnow!
