Stages of the Sims 4 Successful Lineage Aspiration

There are four stages of the sims 4 successful lineage aspiration to work through. You’ll find tasks like helping sims with homework, getting them to an A in school or reaching the top of a career.

Stage One: Readily a Parent

  • Become an Adult

The first part of this aspiration is just to become an adult. Easy! Either start with an adult (or young adult, that works too) that you create in CAS or age up a sim from teen to young adult to satisfy this need.

  • Spend §1000 on Kids’ Stuff

Before you have your first child you’ll want to be prepared, so get their nursery ready. You can purchase anything that’s in the children’s category from toys to furniture to doll houses and all of them will apply to your §1000 spend.

Stage Two: Caregiver

Reading with children is so important for their development, and reading is good for sims too! To start you need to make sure you have appropriate books.

You can click on a bookcase and choose open to see every book inside. If you have a child or toddler book available you can use those.

If you don’t have these books you can purchase them. To purchase books you need to click on a bookcase and choose purchase books and a menu will open. You can sort by type of book to choose children’s and purchase a child or toddler book from this menu.

These books will end up in the bookcase and you can click open to drag it into your sim’s inventory and from there you can click on the book and choose to read it to your child.

The next thing you need to do is become a parent, of course. There are so many ways you can do this. This can apply when you create a family in CAS, when you have a child through pregnancy, or when you adopt a child.

  • Socialize With Your Child 10 Times

This is one of the easiest parts of this aspiration because all you need to do is 10 individual social interactions with your sim’s child.

Make sure they’re friendly interactions so you can keep their relationship high!

Stage Three: Trusted Mentor

Helping with homework is so good because when an adult helps them you can get homework done so much faster. To do this you need to get your child or teen to start their homework by clicking on it in their inventory and choosing do homework.

The sim will sit at an available table and start working. Then, you’ll control the sim who is working on the sims 4 successful lineage aspiration and click on the child and choose help with homework.

The adult will sit with the sim if there’s a chair available or stand near them to help and the homework will get done faster.

  • Have a Child Earn an A in High School

To have your sim’s child earn an A in high school they first need to be a teenager. When they’re finally old enough to go to high school you can start doing homework by clicking on the blue high school homework book in their inventory. You need to do their homework every day before they go back to school to increase their performance.

When your sim has a B grade they’ll unlock the ability to do extra credit. This appears after your sim has done their homework when you click on their homework again. Extra credit is a great way to improve your sim’s performance.

When a sim is at school you can click on them and change their behaviour from normal to get them to study harder. They will come home with low fun need and a tense moodlet, but it can be worth it to get an A quicker.

Pro Tip: Get your teen to reach level 4 of the programming skill and you can hack school grades to get an increase in their grades without effort.

If you have The Sims 4: Parenthood you can also get your sim to do school projects for extra credit. These will sometimes be sent home from school but you can also purchase them from the build menu to work on whenever you want to increase your sim’s grades.

The best part about school projects is that your sim will gain skills when they’re doing it. If a teen works on the robotics project they’ll gain the programming skill. Plus, you can get an adult to help them work on it to get it done quicker!

  • Have a Child Max Any Skill

Having a child max any skill applies to anyone from child to teenager. Sadly, this means you can’t do it with the easy to gain skills for toddlers.

You can check out all of our skill guides for more information on how to gain skills for sims to see specifically how to gain a skill to max it.

Stage Four: Successful Lineage

When a sim reaches level 5 of most skills they unlock the ability to mentor other sims in that skill. The benefit of mentoring is that the target sim will gain the skill so much more quickly than if they were learning on their own.

To do this you can click on an item that your sim has level 5 of that children can also use (i.e., chess tables, pianos, violins) and choose mentoring and choose to mentor that child.

You can also click on the item when controlling the child and choose ask for mentoring and then the sim will come and assist the child!

  • Have a Child Complete an Aspiration

Once your sim is a child they will have aspirations available to them. There’s aspirations about being creative, aspirations about being smart, and more. You just need to complete one of these aspirations in the game.

This doesn’t just apply to children, you can also choose to finish an aspiration for a teen. However, the child aspirations are so much quicker to finish than teen-adult aspirations so it’s smart to choose a child level aspiration.

  • Have a Child or Grandchild Reach the Top of a Career

This is the most time consuming part of this aspiration because it requires a sim to raise a child and then have them join a career. Then work their way through that entire career. It’s a ton of work, but I know you can do it!

Pro Tip: If you haven’t completed this section yet and your sim is about to die you have options! Keep your sim alive by using satisfaction points to purchase a potion of youth. This will set your sim’s age back to the beginning of their current life stage.

Vicarious Reward Trait

When your sim is able to finish the sims 4 successful lineage aspiration they’ll be given the vicarious reward trait. The trait’s description reads “By being vicarious, your children’s skill gains can contribute to your own!”

This is such a useful reward trait because any time your child earns a skill, your sim will gain some of that skill too. Imagine getting good at something without ever doing it? Amazing.
