With this aspiration from The Sims 4: For Rent your sim will be looking for secrets by breaking into homes, eavesdropping on sims and being generally naughty.
Dastardly Bonus Trait
When you start a sim off with a deviance aspiration you’ll get the dastardly trait as a bonus. This trait makes your sims have stronger and more successful mean interactions.
This isn’t really helpful for this aspiration, since its about snooping, not about being mean!
Best Traits for The Sims 4 Seeker of Secrets Aspiration
When you are in create a sim you should consider the traits you give your sim and choose ones that are good for their aspiration. Here’s some good options for this aspiration:
- Nosy: Sims with the nosy trait love to gossip, snoop and spy. These sims are better at finding secrets!
- Cheerful: This is just a great trait to have in general, it gives happy moodlets to sims and happy sims are easier to care for.
Stages of the Aspiration
There are three stages of the sims 4 seeker of secrets aspiration to play through. In this aspiration you’ll be doing fun things like blackmailing sims, breaking into their houses and finding all the secrets.
Stage One: Nosy Novice
There are a few ways you’re able to discover secrets, all of which are fun. We’ll go over all of the options throughout this article, but your options include:
- Eavesdropping on Conversations
- Eavesdropping on Sim’s Doors
- Snooping in Houses
- Dressers, Beds and Desks
- Snooping in Mailboxes
- Spying on Sims (Nosy Trait)
If you snoop too close together you’ll have a more difficult time finding the secrets you need!
If your sim has the nosy trait like we suggest, you can even click on sims and choose to spy on them. Your sim will have a set of binoculars and can find secrets about them this way too!
When you snoop, spy or eavesdrop you’ll get one of two notifications, you’ll either get a secret or fail to find anything.
If you get a secret you’ll be able to go to a sim’s profile and read all about that secret. The stories are pretty funny too!
There are a few ways you can snoop for secrets to complete this section! Your first option is to click on a sim’s mailbox and choose snoop, just make sure no one is watching.
The next place you can snoop is on a desk! Any desk works, even desks in kid’s rooms!
You can also snoop for secrets on beds and dressers to find even more secrets.
When you’re snooping be sure that you’re paying attention to your sim’s surroundings. If they get caught they’ll get an embarrassed moodlet! But, if they do well and succeed they can get a playful moodlet.
There are two ways you can eavesdrop on sims, the first is on conversations. To do this you click on two sims who are having a conversation and click eavesdrop. You can find this under friendly > gossip > eavesdrop if you can’t find it.
When you do this your sim will stand… too close to not get caught, but okay… and they will put their hand up to their ear and start listening. When you do this there’s a chance to learn a secret!
Your second option is to eavesdrop on someone while they’re in their house. To do this you need to travel to someone’s house when they are home and click on their front door and choose eavesdrop.
Your sim will stand with their ear to the door and will hopefully learn some secrets!
Stage Two: Superior Pryer
Once you have found out a secret about a sim by snooping you can choose to confront them about it. You’ll find this in the social menu and when you do, you’ll get a notification letting you know that you now can choose to keep a secret or blackmail the sim.
After confronting a sim about a secret you’ll have the option to keep secret for another sim. This interaction is under the friendly menu and is a great choice if you care about that sim and want to keep them as a friend!
We’ve already discussed eavesdropping on other sims and how that works, but now you have to discover secrets by doing it. This works for both eavesdropping on conversations and eavesdropping on a sim’s door.
Sometimes you won’t get any secrets, but keep eavesdropping and you’ll get this in no time.
Stage Three: Snooper Extraordinaire
In the last stage of this aspiration you’ll have to break into a sim’s home. This works for both rental units and regular houses. The break in option appears when no sims are home and it’s a funny one to watch.
There’s a chance of failure if the door is too strong. You’ll have to try again and hope not to get caught. If you succeed in your break-in your sim will have free reign on the sim’s house to snoop around.
A tiger inspector badge allows a sim to break into homes and have it as an excuse so there’s no repercussions if they get caught. To get one of these badges your sim needs to sneak into sanctuary at the Sulea Tiger Sanctuary.
You can only do this at night, after the sanctuary has closed.
When you click to sneak in you’ll get an action card and you’ll need to make a decision. Mine asked between claim to be looking for a lost item and rant about being a tiger enthusiast. The right answer was tiger enthusiast because lost item just got me a weird tassel and kicked out of the sanctuary.
Another action card I got had my sim either jump in a garbage can (wrong) or run into an employee room (right).
When you succeed at this task you’ll get a Tiger Inspection Badge into your inventory. This is kind of silly because when you finish this aspiration you get this permanently so you can break in anywhere forever.
Your final task is to blackmail a sim about their secrets. This is done by first confronting a sim about their secret.
Then you’ll want to go to mean > malicious > blackmail and the interaction will begin.
When this interaction starts there will be a simoleon symbol over their heads and the other sim will hand your sim an envelope filled with money. Your sim will get a +1 Energized Moodlet that says Lucrative Arrangement that lasts 4 hours.
Pry of the Tiger Reward Trait
When your sim manages to finish the sims 4 seeker of secrets aspiration they are going to be given the pry of the tiger reward trait.
This trait’s description reads “Pry of the Tiger sims are more successful when rummaging and sorting through junk mail. Best of all, they have the perfect alibi when caught breaking into someone’s home: a Tiger Inspector Badge!”
The two parts of this reward trait are being successful when going through junk mail which is fun! The other part is that you get a permanent Tiger Inspector Badge so you can break into anyone’s home whenever you want. Pair this with the kleptomaniac trait and you can steal stuff when sims aren’t home!
