The sims 4 mixology skill is all about making drinks for your sims and other sims to enjoy.

You can start creating beautiful concoctions with fun ingredients!

What is Mixology Good For?

Mixology is great for making sims happy through delicious drinks.

You can finish the master mixologist aspiration to start influencing peoples emotions and join the culinary career in the mixology branch to do this full-time!

How to Gain The Sims 4 Mixology Skill

Gaining the mixology skill is super easy, you can get your sims to hop over to a bar and start making any drinks and they will gain the skill.

You also have the option to just get them to practice so there aren’t dozens of rotting drinks around your sims house. This is best because you won’t need to keep adding new interactions to the queue.

You can also read skill books from the bookcase which can be purchased. You’ll see three books for mixology:

  • Mixology Vol 1: Beverage Basics
  • Mixology Vol 2: A Twist of Lime
  • Mixology Vol 3: The Mixologist’s Bible

You’ll want to start with the first book until you reach level four, then move onto number two. Once you reach level 7 you can move onto the last book.

Best Mood to Practice Mixology

Every skill has an emotion tied to it that can help your sims gain the skill more quickly. For mixology that emotion is inspired.

Your sims can get inspired easily through taking a thoughtful shower and at level six of the skill your sim can practice bar tricks which can help them to feel inspired.

Best Traits for Gaining Mixology

The traits you give your sim do matter and they can have a big impact on how quickly your sims are able to gain skills! The traits you should think about for mixology include:

  • Creative: Creative sims get inspired moodlets all the time which is the best mood for mixology.
  • Cheerful: Cheerful sims get happy moodlets more often which can help to boost inspired.
  • Muser: Sims that have the muser trait are able to get skill gains faster when inspired.

You also want to consider what lot traits you are adding to your sim’s house. These can impact skill gain and mood so much and are something you shouldn’t overlook!

  • Homey: The homey trait improves the ability to gain the mixology, cooking, handiness and gardening skills.
  • Sunny Aspect: This trait comes with City Living and will make sims feel happy, energized and inspired more often and inspired is great for gaining this skill.

How to Cheat The Sims 4 Mixology Skill

If you want the skill without the effort you can cheat the mixology skill. To do this you need to know stats.set_skill_level Major_bartending 10 to max the skill.

Want a different level? Use something like stats.set_skill_level Major_bartending 5 to get level 5 or change that last number to whatever level you want your sim to have.

Level 5Your sim has learned the Salty Llama recipe. They will also now get the talented tender moodlet after making a drink. They can now mentor others in mixology.
Level 6Your sim has learned the Sea Splash recipe. They can also now practice bar tricks.
Level 7Your sim has learned the Sour Punch recipe. They also learned a cool new bottle stack trick move! Also, their drinks provide stronger moodlets to those who drink them.
Level 8Your sim has learned the silent film recipe. Also, they can now share mixology secrets with other sims.
Level 9Your sim has learned the Simsmapolitan recipe. They have also learned the bottle fireball trick.
Level 10Your sim has learned more recipes. They can freshen drinks to reset a spoilage timer and will receive the mix master moodlet after making a drink.

Special Drinks

There aren’t many benefits to gaining this skill other than unlocking the ability to start making interesting drinks with fun effects. Some of the drinks you can make include:

  • Snaggle Fluster: At level 9 of the mixology branch of the culinary career you can purchase the mythical drink guide and learn this recipe. Drinking this gives sims a skill gain moodlet.
  • Beetle Juice: This comes with Eco Lifestyle. If a sim drinks this 3 times in a row they will die.
  • Vigorator: This drink can be made when a sim is feeling energized and will give them an energized moodlet when it is drank.
  • Wolf-B-Gone: This comes with Werewolves and if a werewolf drinks this they will become a sim again.

There are tons of fun drinks that can influence emotions for your sims!

Mixology Mentorship

When a sim maxes out the mixology skill they can mentor other sims in the skill. Get a sim to start practicing making drinks and this sim can go ahead and mentor them to make them gain the skill more quickly.
