The Sims 4 Market Magnate Aspiration

If you want to own a food stall you should play the sims 4 market magnate aspiration!

This aspiration comes with The Sims 4: Home Chef Hustle and is a super fun one to play through.

Your sim will need to be running food sales and having a great time cooking!

Business Savvy Bonus Trait

When you start your sim off with a fortune aspiration they’ll get the business savvy bonus trait. This trait makes it so sims are going to earn more money from careers they work in.

This isn’t a helpful thing for this aspiration, but if your sim has a regular job during the week it can be helpful for them!

Best Traits for The Market Magnate Aspiration

You should think about the traits that you add to your sim when you create them. These traits are great for this aspiration:

  • Outgoing: Selling items means your sims spend a lot of time around other sims, so being outgoing is good.
  • Perfectionist: A sim who is a perfectionist will create higher quality foods and that means you can sell it for more.
  • Loves Outdoors: With this aspiration your sim will spend lots of time outdoors selling their food, so loves the outdoors will give them positive moodlets when they do sales.

There are some traits you can get by finishing other aspirations before starting this one that can be helpful too!

  • Fresh Chef: The fresh chef trait is the reward trait from the master chef aspiration and it makes it so your sims food that they cook never expires. It complete eliminates the timer of freshness from the food which means you can leave food cooked by a fresh chef inside the food stand until your next sale instead of having to bring it to a fridge so it doesn’t go bad.
  • Batch Cook: This comes from the same pack as this aspiration and is from the appliance wiz aspiration. This trait will make it so your sims will get duplicates of any meals that are cooked with prepped ingredients that your sim makes on a stand mixer. This is great because your sim will have more food to sell with less effort.

Stages of The Aspiration

There are four stages of the sims 4 market magnate aspiration for your sim to work through. Each stage has tasks to finish and when you do them you’ll get satisfaction points!

Stage One: Crab Commerce

  • Run a Food Sale from a Residential Lot

The first thing your sim needs to do for this aspiration is run a sale on a residential lot. Obviously, you just run it on your own lot! First, you just need to buy and place the Anywhere Any Fare Food Stand for §585.

A screenshot from The Sims 4 showing the anywhere any fare food stand build mode

Once you have this placed you’ll need your sim to drag some food into the food stand so you can sell it. Then, click on the item and choose start food sale.

A screenshot from The Sims 4 showing a food stand with Start Food Sale highlighted

Sims will start coming to your sale and if they choose not to buy you can click on them and choose gives sales pitch or even convince sims to buy but that has a cooldown so you can’t do it too often.

A screenshot from The Sims 4 showing the option to give sales pitch at a food stand

When the food sale is over you’ll get a notification saying food sale complete and you’ll see all the items you’ve sold.

Once the sale is over you’ll satisfy this requirement!

  • Sell 5 Excellent Pizzas or Waffles During a Food Sale

The next thing you need to do is sell 5 excellent quality pizzas or waffles during a food sale. This is easy! There are a few things that go into the quality of food your sim is able to make:

  • Their level of the cooking skill
  • Their mood when they made the meal, inspired is best
  • Their needs when they cooked the meal
  • Their lot traits and personal traits
    • Perfectionist sims will make higher quality items more often

Your sim just needs to cook these excellent quality items and then stock the table with them and sell as many as you can in one sale to satisfy this need.

Stage Two: Nom Nom Nomad

  • Run Food Sales from 2 Different Lots

The second stage of this aspiration starts with needing to sell items on a different lot. Thankfully, you can easily drag the food stand into your sim’s inventory.

A screenshot from The Sims 4 showing a food stand in a sim's inventory

Once the stand is in your sim’s inventory you can head to a public lot and drag the item back out of your sim’s inventory onto the ground. You’ll want to pick a lot where there is enough space for it, so the park is a great option.

Then just click on the food stand and start a sale! Just make sure you brought your food with your or already had it in the food stand before you left. And don’t forget to drag the food stand back into your sim’s inventory when you’re done!

  • Convince Customers to Buy Something 5 Times During a Food Sale

The next thing your sim needs to do is convince other sims to buy items 5 times during a food sale. This is super easy, but you have to be on your game. To do this you’ll need to click on sims and click convince to buy and a menu will appear.

A screenshot from The Sims 4 showing the option to convince sims to buy food at a food market

Once the menu opens you’ll get to pick what item you want them to buy and they should purchase it. Sometimes they don’t, if they don’t there will be no cooldown and you can try again on another sim.

If a sim does purchase it there will be a cooldown where you have to wait a while to convince another sim, so pay attention and use it whenever it appears.

Stage Three: Hustling Hawker

  • Earn §500 During a Single Food Sale

Next up your sim needs to earn at least 500 simoleons during a single food sale. This can be hard! The key is to only cook expensive items with more ingredients so they sell for more money.

The best items (that don’t require hard to get ingredients) are the Pizza Quattro Stagioni or the Saffron Waffles.

A screenshot from The Sims 4 showing the options for both pizza and waffles to make expensive food to sell

These items sell for so much money compared to regular boring pizza and plain waffles! And if you click on the table and choose to increase your profit margins you can earn even more money when these items are sold.

A screenshot from The Sims 4 showing the prices you can sell Saffron Waffles for

You’ll also want to only stock your excellent quality items during the sale where you want to make this happen so there are no items that won’t make a ton of money.

A screenshot from The Sims 4 showing the notification you get when a sim has a food market

When your sim finishes their sale they’ll even get a notification saying Kaching! about their successful food sale!

A screenshot from The Sims 4 showing the Kaching! moodlet you get after a profitable food market
  • Tend a Food Stand for More Than 6 Hours

At this point you’ve probably already spent hours at your food stand, so there’s a chance you’ve finished this. But if you haven’t just run another food sale until you get there!

  • Sell a Poor Quality Item for §100

This part was a little harder because my sim had reached level 10 of the cooking skill previously, so I added another sim to my family, made them be in a bad mood and got them to cook something.

A screenshot from The Sims 4 showing a sim who is sad who made a poor quality pizza marinara

This sim had no level of the cooking skill so their first pizza was poor quality! I transferred that to my sim’s inventory and got her to sell it instead.

To make sure that this item sold for enough money I made sure to click on my stand and choose mark up prices and choose 300% which is an absolute scam for whoever bought it lol. I only put this one poor quality item in my sim’s sale so other sims couldn’t buy anything else.

Then I clicked on a sim and got them to purchase it by clicking convince to buy and it worked like a charm!

After selling this poor quality pizza my sim got a +2 Confident moodlet that said “Sometimes things that are expensive, are worse…” and that made me chuckle.

Stage Four: Street Stall Sage

  • Resurrect a Ghost by Selling Ambrosia

This is the hardest part of this aspiration and honestly, as someone who has played every aspiration its one of the hardest tasks you’ll do in aspirations.

Why? Well, you need three ingredients to cook ambrosia which are hard to get, then you need to have enough ghosts in your world to come to your sale, and make sure that a ghost buys and eats it instead of a regular sim. It’s a wild one.

To cook an ambrosia you’ll first need level 10 of the gourmet cooking skill for your sim which doesn’t even unlock until level 5 of the regular cooking skill. Then you’ll need to get the ingredients to be able to cook it. You’ll need:

  • 1 Death Flower
  • 1 Potion of Youth
  • 1 Angelfish

To get your death flower you can use your sim’s gardening skill and abilities to graft it if you’re feeling like a challenge. You’ll need to:

  • Graft Cherry to Apple for a Pomegranate
  • Graft Lily to Snapdragon for an Orchid
  • Graft Pomegranate to Orchid for a Death Flower

My preferred option to get my first death flower is to get my sim to level 10 of the gardening skill and purchase a bunch of rare plants seed packets. These have a chance to get death flowers!

A screenshot from The Sims 4 showing a pack of rare plants and a death flower in a sim's inventory

Then, once you have one, plant it. Then you’ll get multiple and then plant more and have an unlimited supply.

A screenshot from The Sims 4 showing how to get the potion of youth

The next thing you’ll need is the potion of youth. You can purchase this in the reward store for 1,500 satisfaction points. You can gain satisfaction points through completing aspiration stages and doing whims.

The next thing you’ll need is an angelfish which is one of the harder fish to catch. You’ll find this fish behind the museum, gym and library in Willow Creek at the fishing spot!

Your sim is going to need a high level of the fishing skill to catch this fish. The best thing to have is level 9 at least because you’ll be able to click on a fishing spot and choose angle for a big catch.

A screenshot from The Sims 4 showing how to get an angelfish

This option will get you a higher chance of getting more uncommon fish like the angelfish. I got my sim to feel focused, sent them to the fishing spot and got them to angle for a big catch and they caught multiple of these fish!

Now you have all the ingredients to make ambrosia and can cook it under the cook a gourmet meal menu.

A screenshot from The Sims 4 showing the option to cook ambrosia

When your ambrosia is cooked you can add it to the food stand and start trying to sell it.

A screenshot from The Sims 4 showing an ambrosia with a 75% mark up at a food stand

However, if you’re in a new save you probably have no ghosts on any lot. So no joke, I went around the world and used my UI cheats extension mod to quick starve a bunch of sims so they could be ghosts instead.

I genuinely killed most of willow creek so there would be lots of ghosts at my sale.

A screenshot from The Sims 4 showing a ghost coming to a food market selling ambrosia

Also, the first two times I tried to do this I only made one ambrosia and tried to use convince to buy and it never worked. So, I made a dozen ambrosia dishes and just let everyone buy them. Yes, I did need to cheat my satisfaction points to do this, oops!

If you have The Sims 4: Realm of Magic you can use the copypasto spell over and over on the ingredients or the ambrosia so you can make as many as you need without too much effort.

A screenshot from The Sims 4 showing a ghost eating and being resurrected by ambrosia

Eventually I had multiple ghosts coming up to my sim’s food stand and Eric finally bought and it came back to life!

  • Earn §10,000 by Completing Food Sales

Earning 10,000 simoleons by completing food sales is so easy, just keep running sales until you hit this number. You’ll want to continue making more expensive meals to sell instead of just plain waffles so they’ll sell for more and always sell excellent quality food because it’ll sell for more!

Plus, selling just one ambrosia dish often sells for this much when its excellent quality!

  • Sell One Meal for §300

Since you already have to sell ambrosia you really don’t need to work on this one. Ambrosia is a super valuable meal that will always sell for more than 300 simoleons!

Booth Boss Reward Trait

When your sim finishes off the sims 4 market magnate aspiration they are going to get booth boss reward trait.

A screenshot from The Sims 4 showing the booth boss reward trait you get from the market magnate aspiration

This trait’s description says “Booth bosses can set higher markups and are more successful at convincing customers to buy while using food stands and sales tables.”

Booth boss is a great trait if you love to throw yard sales or sell using food stands. Sims will buy from you more easily and you can sell everything for more money!
