The Sims 4 Lord or Lady of The Knits Aspiration
If you want to be a master at knitting you’ll need to work through the sims 4 lord or lady of the knits aspiration.
This comes to the game with The Sims 4: Nifty Knitting and has your sim spending all of their time knitting.
Sims that manage to finish this one get the coveted sacred knitting knowledge reward trait!
Muser Bonus Trait
When a sim starts their life with a creativity aspiration they are going to be given the muser bonus trait. This trait’s description reads “Musers get better boosts to their skills when they’re inspired.”

This bonus trait is awesome because the ideal mood for knitting is inspired so you’ll earn the skill even faster!
Best Traits for Sims 4 Lord or Lady of The Knits Aspiration
When you create a sim you should put effort into their traits, they can have a huge impact! Here’s some that are helpful for this aspiration:
- Creative: Creative sims get random inspired moodlets which is the ideal mood for knitting!
- Perfectionist: A sim who is a perfectionist is more likely to put out high quality knitting pieces which is a necessity for making legendary knittables.
- Marketable: This is a reward trait you can purchase from the reward store for 1,500 satisfaction points. This has your sim selling their crafted items for more money!
You can also think to add some fun lot traits to add to your skill gains and sim’s mood:
- Study Spot: This one comes with Discover University and gives a small skill boost to all skills.
- Sunny Aspect: This one comes with City Living and gives all sims in the house a moodlet at 6PM each day. It will either be happy, energized, or inspired and you can take advantage of those inspired moodlets.
Stages of the Aspiration
There are four stages of this aspiration to work through. As you finish tasks in any aspiration your sim will get satisfaction points they can spend on reward traits!
Stage One: Humble Knitter

- Knit for 5 Hours
The first part of this aspiration requires you to knit for 5 hours. To do this you’ll need to purchase a yarn basket from the two options (Super Stash or the Beginner’s Basket) and place it in your sim’s inventory.

Once the item is in their inventory you can click on it and choose knit beanies which is the only option when you first gain the skill. You’ll get a pop up menu letting you choose the colours for the beanie as well.

Continue knitting beanies (or other objects if you unlock them) until you reach 5 total hours.
- Start 3 Knitting Projects While Inspired
The ideal mood for knitting is inspired so being in that mood to knit is best. To get your sim to feel inspired the easiest way is to take a thoughtful shower. You can also donate a knit item to charity to get inspired!

Once your sim is inspired start a knitting project and it will count. You can start and stop projects back to back to back to get all three under one moodlet.
- Knit on a Rocking Chair
Knitting in a rocking chair is for cool people only. To do this you’ll want a knitting basket in your sims inventory and a rocking chair on their lot. You’ll click on the chair and choose knit and then choose a project.

Your sim will sit right in the chair and knit until the project is complete!
Stage Two: Thread Setter

- Achieve Level 4 Knitting Skill
To achieve level four of the skill you can keep knitting objects, or purchase a knitting skill book at a bookcase and read that instead!
- Knit While Listening to Music
The next thing your sim needs to do is knit while listening to music. You can do this by purchasing a radio and placing it near where your sim will knit. Click on that item and choose listen to and pick a genre.

Then, once the sim is listening you can tell them to knit and they’ll do both at the same time. If you have Fitness Stuff you can also do this with the headphones!
The next thing you must do is sell a knitted item on Plopsy. When your sim finishes an object click list on Plopsy and it’ll change to a pink listing.

You can hover over the listing in your sim’s inventory to see all the information, including when it expires. If the listing expires you’ll have to relist and pay the 5 simoleons again.

At some point you’ll hopefully get a notification letting you know that someone wants to buy your knit. When this happens you’ll see the listing turn blue and you can see how much they want to buy it for when you hover.

You have two options, either ship it for that price or relist it by paying 5 simoleons if you want to see if someone else will pay more money.
When you choose to ship on Plopsy your sim will go to the mailbox and send off the item and you’ll immediately get paid. Usually the next day you’ll even get a review!

Stage Three: Dream Weaver

- Complete 10 Excellent Knittables
The next part of the lord of lady of the knits aspiration is to create excellent knits. When you do any creative thing in the game you’ll see a ranking scale for your outputs. For this stage you need to create excellent quality knits.

Some things you can do to increase the quality of knits include knitting when your sim is inspired, having a high level of the knitting skill and having the perfectionist trait for your sim.
The best part about being a knitter is gifting items to the ones you love. When you finish an item you can go into your sim’s inventory and choose gift to and choose a sim who is on your lot.

Your sim will go up to them and give them a striped box with the item inside. You’re looking for a positive reaction for it to be successful.

To guarantee a happy reaction make sure that the quality is high on the item you gift. Plus, you should consider the receiver. Don’t give an adult aged sim a child sweater.
- Achieve Level 6 Knitting Skill
Getting to level six is easy, just keep working on different knit projects!
- Successfully Show Off Your Knitted Sweater to Another Sim
Wearing your knits and being able to show them off is so fun. To do this you need to finish a sweater for your sim and click on it and choose add to wardrobe.

Then you’ll want to go into create-a-sim and add the sweater to your sim’s outfit. When they’re wearing their knit sweater they can go to another sim and do the show off knitted clothing interaction!

Stage Four: Lord/Lady of the Knits

When you’re a knitter there’s always a time when you want to knit but have too many knits already. This is when donating is great and your sims can do it too!
To donate a knit object you can click on the knit in your sim’s inventory and choose donate item to charity.

Your sim will go to the mailbox and send it off to a charity. In return they’ll get the Knittable Contribution to the Betterment of Society +1 inspired moodlet.

You’ll even get a text saying thank you for donating that item!
- Achieve Level 10 Knitting Skill
To achieve level 10 of the skill, keep working on creating knits. Want to cheat it instead? Use stats.set_skill_level major_knitting 10 to max it.
This is the hardest part of the lord or lady of the knits aspiration. Legendary knits are the highest quality and it can take some time to see this happen for your sim. Some things you can do to make this happen more often include:
- Give your sim the perfectionist trait
- Buy your sim the creative visionary reward trait
- Make sure your sim’s needs are taken care of before knitting
- Make sure your sim is feeling inspired
- Make sure your sim has level 10 knitting

Doing that collection of tasks will seriously increase your chances at a legendary knit!
The best part about knitting is that its been passed down for generations and your sims can do that too! Your sims are able to teach any sim from child to elder how to knit.
To do this you just need to have a knitting basket in your sim’s inventory and choose the teach to knit option.

The two sims will sit together and start knitting. The sim who is being taught will learn the skill much faster this way!

Scared Knitting Knowledge Reward Trait
When you finally finish the lord or lady of the knits aspiration your sim is going to get the sacred knitting knowledge reward trait. This reward trait has so many little things happening with it, I actually really like this one.

The first thing your sim will be able to do is knit the forbidden sweater. This is a weird sweater in all sorts of colours with weird pom poms. It’s an interesting one for sure!

Getting this reward trait also unlocks the ability to knit a new child toy, Yarny! You can make these in all sorts of colours and gift them to kids!

When a sim has sacred knitting knowledge the teach to knit interaction is replaced with bestow sacred knitting knowledge. This has the sim learning to knit gain the skill so fast compared to just teaching.

The final thing you can do with this reward trait is reverse the sweater curse! This is a funny thing in the game where if a sim gifts a knit sweater to their romantic partner they’ll get a +2 scared moodlet for 7 days.
While this moodlet is active any romantic interactions the couple does will DECREASE their relationship! It’s based on a knitting urban legend that relationships are doomed after you gift a sweater.

A sim with sacred knitting knowledge is immune to this but they can also go to sims who have this moodlet and click reverse the sweater curse and the moodlet will be removed!
