The Sims 4 Horse Agility Skill Guide

If you want a talented horse they need to gain the sims 4 horse agility skill.

Your horse will need this skill if they want to become a champion in barrel racing and western pleasure competitions!

How to Gain The Sims 4 Horse Agility Skill

The first way you can gain this skill is by taking your horse to the Equestrian Centre and getting them to take a skill class.

You’ll click on the building and choose horse training and you can pick which class you want them to take.

The cost of these skill training classes are going to increase as your horse’s skill never gets higher!

The next way to gain this skill is to start using horse barrels. There are two versions of horse barrels you can purchase from the build menu!

If you have a small lot you can also use the free barrels that are located in the world, both behind Duke’s Hall and the Equestrian Centre.

Once you have access to barrels you can click on it and choose to practice barrels when you’re mounted on a horse.

As you continue to gain the skill you’ll be able to race barrels or train more intensely!

Best Traits for Gaining The Skill

Traits are so important to skill gains, even for horses. There are three traits that you could give your horse that can help you gain this skill more quickly.

  • Intelligent: The intelligent trait is great because these horses gain all skills more quickly because they are so smart.
  • Energetic: An energetic horse has more energy to get rid of, meaning they can exercise for longer letting you gain the skill faster.
  • Brave: A horse who is brave will succeed at barrels more often because they are fearless!

How to Cheat The Sims 4 Horse Agility Skill

Cheating horse skills is slightly more complicated than regular skills because you’ll first need to find your horses SIM ID. This is easy though, you just need to use this cheat sims.get_sim_id_by_name *FirstName* *LastName* which is great.

So, if your horse’s name is Taylor Swift you’ll use the cheat code sims.get_sim_id_by_name Taylor Swift and hit enter and the game will tell you their ID.

You then input that ID into the cheat code stats.set_skill_level horse_agility 10 [simID] to max out the agility skill. If you want a different level of the skill just change the 10 a number between 1 and 9.

Levels of The Horse Agility Skill

There are ten levels of the sims 4 horse agility skill for your horse to gain. As you improve your skill you’ll see fun ability unlocks and your horse will lose energy slower.

Level 1Your horse’s new skill in agility will begin to help them perform better when using horse barrels. As this skill increases, they will also perform better at certain community jobs and the barrel racing, western pleasure, and ultimate horse championship competitions.
Level 2Your horse will now be able to talk about going fast and will perform slightly better when using horse barrels.
Level 3Your horse now can have sims ask about agility training and will perform slightly better when using horse barrels.
Level 4Your sim will now become less fatigued and perform better when using horse barrels.
Level 5Sims will now be able to compliment speed on your horse. They can also now race barrels on horse barrels, which will increase agility skill gain more quickly but fatigue your horse faster. Your horse will now perform better when using this object.
Level 6Sims will now be able to ask about favourite barrel runs with your horse. Also, they will perform slightly better when using horse barrels.
Level 7Sims will now be able to ask about being quick on feet with your horse. This will improve the sim’s dancing and fitness skill gain for a time. Your horse will perform slightly better when using horse barrels.
Level 8Your horse will now be able to train with horse barrels on their own without a rider. Your horse will also perform better when using horse barrels.
Level 9Your horse will now become less fatigued and perform better when using horse barrels.
Level 10Congratulations! Horse experts from near and far would agree that your horse is a world-class pro of agility. You’ll receive the Iron Works Signage: Agility!

Community Jobs

If you want to earn money with horses you can do some community jobs. You’ll find these on the community boards around the world.

There are certain community jobs that are impacted by your horse’s skills so having higher skills can help your sims earn more money.

Gaining The Fitness & Dancing Skill Faster

When your horse reaches level 7 you’ll unlock the ask about being quick on feet interaction with your horse. When you do this your sim will get a +1 Confident Moodlet that lasts 3 hours called Prancing Lessons. During the time that this is active your sims will get the fitness skill and the dancing skill more quickly!

Competing With The Sims 4 Horse Agility Skill

The most fun part about horses is that you can have them enter a horse competition and you can win money. The following competitions are impacted by your horse’s agility skill:

  • Western Pleasure
  • Barrel Racing
  • Ultimate Horse Championship

If you want your sims to win these competitions there are a few factors to consider. The first is the level of your sim’s horse riding skill, then your horse’s agility skill level as well as the mood for both the sim and the horse at the time the competition starts.
