The Sims 4 Explore the Ocean Formative Moment
- “I want to go swimming and explore the ocean!”
The first thing you need to do is have your sim swim for six hours. This can be in open water, but it also counts if you have them swim in a swimming pool!
You’ll click on either water source and choose swim here or swim laps in a pool and have them do it for six total hours. This doesn’t need to be six hours in a row!
- “I’m going to go for a ride in a kayak so many times!”
For this part of the formative moment your sim will need a Kayak. You can purchase one from the build catalog or have an adult go to the This Oar That shop in Gibbi Point’s Jellyfish Junction neighbourhood.
Once purchased you can drag it into your child’s inventory and have them go somewhere with open water.
Click on deep water and choose paddle here or paddle around. I found paddle around was the option to satisfy this requirement.
Childhood Ocean Explorer Reward Trait
When you finish this formative moment you’ll be rewarded with the childhood ocean explorer trait. This trait’s description says “As a Child, this sim wanted to explore the whole ocean! Obviously, that was a little impossible to do, but they spent a lot of time in it swimming and kayaking. As an adult, they’ll be invigorated while on the water and lose less energy need while on a watercraft vehicle.”
