This one helps your sim understand death and will have less of a fear of death as an adult.

This formative moment from The Sims 4: Life & Death won’t be available to your sim until a sim they care about passes away!

The Sims 4 Encounter Death Formative Moment

• “Maybe if I spoke to Grim… I’d understand things a little better.”

For this part of the formative moment your sim wants to chat with Grim. You have a few options here! You can have a sim pass away and Grim will come to Reap them and you can interact that way which is easy.

You can sometimes find Grim walking around the Mourningvale neighbourhood in Ravenwood so you can search for him there but he isn’t always around.

Finally, if you have The Sims 4: Crystal Creations installed in your game you can summon grim with a specifically charged jet crystal and chat with when you summon.

Once you summon Grim through whatever means, you’ll want to introduce yourself to them and then have your sim chat with them with whatever social option you want.

• “Grim loves Death Frogs – I wonder if I can collect a few?”

Death frogs are a specific type of frog you can only get in Ravenwood. You’ll do it just like finding other frogs by finding a pond or frog log and choosing look for frogs. It’ll take a few tries because you can also find regular frogs in Ravenwood too.

You can find a pond to look for frogs at the Eternal Hollow cemetery lot.

• “Mourning a Sim will bring me closer to understanding death.”

To do this part of the formative moment you’ll need to have a sim who has passed away that your sim knows and have access to their urn or tombstone.

Your sim will need to click on either an urn or a tombstone and choose mourn sim. This will have your sim feeling lots of emotions, but it’ll be worth it!

Childhood Grief Survivor Trait

When you finish this formative moment your sim will get the childhood grief survivor trait. This trait’s description says “As a child, this sim experienced grief after a death and had to work their way through it. It was hard work, but they came out with a new perspective on life. As an adult, they’ll advance more quickly in the Undertaker Career and they are more resistant to acquiring a fear of death.”
