How to Get Death by Sunlight for Vampires in The Sims 4
Vampires should never spend too much time outside or they’ll experience the death by sunlight for vampires in The Sims 4!
This death only comes from The Sims 4: Vampires, of course, since you need to be a vampire to experience it.
How to Get Death by Sunlight for Vampires in The Sims 4
Vampires are not supposed to spend time outside during the day when the sun is out. Clouds? Okay. Sun? Evil! A vampire who spends time outside in the sun will eventually pass away from burning to death.
As your vampire spends more time outside you’ll see them get more and more uncomfortable.
They’ll go from Sizzling Epidermis with +2 to The Third Degree which is +10 and they’ll have more visual effects as the uncomfortable moodlet increases in value.
Once the sim has completely run out of their vampire energy they’ll set on fire a bit and go down on their knees and then fall to the ground and pass away.
How to Avoid Sunlight Death
The basic way to avoid this death for your vampires is to keep them inside when the sun is out. However, that’s easier said than done so thankfully there’s a vampire perk you can purchase.
When your sim becomes a master vampire they’ll have the ability to purchase the sun resistance vampire perk. This perk has three tiers and when you purchase the final tier you’ll have full sun exposure protection!
The final tier is called Perfect Sun Resistance and the description says “The sun’s rays are a disastrous downside of the vampiric path. No longer! With perfect sun resistance Your Sim can completely ignore the sun’s destructive rays. They will wash over their skin harmlessly as they become a day walker.”
Sunlight Death Ghost
The ghost for this death is a cutie with a moving sun in their chest. It’s actually one of the cutest ones, I really like the sun because it feels happy… when it isn’t.
These sims will get the Death by Sunlight moodlet which has a description that says “This Sim died from over-exposure to those harmful UV rays!”
Vampires who die from this death can still have negative impacts from the sun. It will still decrease their vampiric slumber need but it won’t actually kill them, it will just give them an uncomfortable moodlet now.
