Collector Bonus Trait
When you have a sim who starts their life with a nature aspiration they are going to be given the collector bonus trait. This trait allows your sims to find more rare collectibles which can be useful if you want to find your own crystals!

Best Traits for Sims 4 Crystal Crafter Aspiration
You should always consider the traits you give your sims because they can have a huge impact on their life. The following traits can be helpful for this aspiration:
- Genius: The ideal mood for gemology is focused and genius sims get focused easier!
- Practice Makes Perfect: Sims with this trait will gain skills slow at the beginning and faster later on. They also get strong focused moodlets which helps with gaining the gemology skill.
- Loves Outdoors: If you want to find crystals in the wild, you may want to make your sim love the outdoors so they get happy moodlets when looking.
- Perfectionist: Your sim needs to craft excellent quality jewelry and perfectionist sims have an easier chance at this.
You can also add lot traits to your sim’s house to make it easier to finish aspirations and max skills:
- Study Spot: This lot trait from The Sims 4: Discover University gives small skill boosts to all skills so you can gain gemology faster.
Stages of the Aspiration
There are four stages of the sims 4 crystal crafter aspiration to play through. Throughout this aspiration your sim will have to own a gemology table, learn the gemology skill and more. As they finish tasks they’ll be given satisfaction points that they can spend on rewards!
Stage One: Curious Collector

- Buy a Gemology Table
The first task you need to complete is to purchase a gemology table. You’ll be looking for The All-In-One Gemology Table by Humphrey Inc. in build mode. You can find it in the hobbies and skills category for §650.

- Collect 5 Crystals or Metals
Your next task is to collect 5 crystals or metals! To find crystals you’ll need to search around the world for rocks that look like they have crystals coming out of them. When you find them click on it and choose dig and you should get a crystal!

To get metals you’ll need to find the same kinds of rocks but instead of crystals they look like they are covered in gold and silver confetti. These are the metal rocks! Click on them and choose dig and you’ll get a metal in your sim’s inventory.

- Gift Jewelry or Successfully Propose with Crafted Ring
To be able to gift jewelry you need to first design and create it. You’ll want to click on the gemology table and choose between design jewelry and design random jewelry. If you don’t care what it looks like, choose random, if you want to design it yourself choose that instead!

Once the design is complete you’ll see it sitting on the gemology table and you’ll want to click on it and choose to put it in your sim’s inventory.
Then when you have the target sim around you you’ll be able to click on the item in your inventory and choose gift to. A menu will open asking who to gift it to and you can choose anyone!

At level two of the gemology skill you’ll be able to start crafting ring designs! You can toggle the menu to just show a certain type of design with the circles at the top under choose design.

Once your sim has a romantic partner that they want to propose to and a crafted ring in their inventory it’s time! You’ll click on the other sim and choose propose with crafted ring. A menu will appear so you can choose between all the rings in your sim’s inventory if you have more than one.

Just make sure the other sim would want to be proposed to! If you just had your first kiss, wait a few days or the sim may say no and you won’t satisfy this requirement.

Stage Two: Bauble Broker

- Buy a Crystal Grid
The first task you need to complete for this stage is to purchase a crystal grid. You’ll be looking for the Mystical Moonlight Crystal Grid from the build menu. It will cost you §50 and you want to place it outside of your sim’s home.

The best part about crafting your own jewelry and gemstones is that they have powerful effects when they are charged. You’ll first need to craft a piece of jewelry with a crystal that has an effect! Then, you’ll click on the crystal grid and place the item on the grid to charge.

The grid will charge the item between 7PM and 7AM so it only works at night! You can hover over the grid at any time to see how much time the item needs before fully charged.

In the morning once the item is charged you can click on it and choose wear and have your sim wear it with all outfits or with just the current outfit on your sim.
Depending on the crystal used you’ll get different effects like a Fire Opal made my sim feel flirty!

Your next task is to plant a crystal seed! To do this you first need to cut a crystal into a Seed-Shaped Gemstone on the gemology table.

Once you have the seed-shaped gemstone you want to drag it onto the ground and click on it and click plant. Your sim will plant this and gain the gardening skill and you’ll start to grow a crystal tree!

Stage Three: Gifted Gemologist

- Grow a Magnificent Crystal Tree
In the last part you’ve already planted a crystal seed to grow your crystal tree, now you just need to increase the tree’s quality to magnificent. To start your tree will be normal quality and you’ll need to evolve it multiple times.

To increase the value of your sim’s tree you’ll want to make sure to weed, water and fertilize the tree to take good care of it. Then you’ll eventually see the tree start glistening and at that time you can click on it and choose evolve. This will increase its quality!

Increase the quality enough times to get the magnificent tree and you’ll satisfy this requirement.
When you craft jewelry you’ll see that it always has a quality rating just like many other things in the game. To get your sim to make excellent quality jewelry pieces you have a few factors to consider:
- Your sim’s level of the gemology skill
- Your sim’s mood when they are crafting jewelry (ideally focused)
- Your sim’s needs level when they are making jewelry
- Your sim’s traits (perfectionist is helpful for making higher quality items)

So, have a sim with high gemology who is feeling focused and has high needs and you should easily be able to craft excellent quality jewelry.
- Complete Crafting Gemstones or Jewelry 10 Times While Focused
To complete this part of the sims 4 crystal crafter aspiration you’ll need to get your sims focused before you start crafting jewelry or cutting gemstones.

You’ll want the focused moodlet to last long enough that it will still be there when your sim finishes the item. So, you may want to stack some focused moodlets on top of each other to make this happen. Get your sim to ponder moves on a chess board when they already have a genius or practice makes perfect moodlet and you can do this easy!
Stage Four: Legendary Lapidary

The first thing you need to do for the last stage of this aspiration is to cut a gemstone valued at §2500. There are a few factors that go into the value of the cut gemstones.
The first is the actual crystal you use in the item. For this you’ll want to use a high cost rare crystal. A good option is Rainborz because that’s what worked for me.

You also want to choose a high skill style of gemstone. The best one is, of course, the gnome!
You also want to make sure that your sim has a maxed level of the gemology skill to do this, and make sure they are feeling focused before they craft it!

My Rainborz Gnome-Shaped Gemstone came out worth §2,531 and it satisfied this requirement.
To finish this aspiration your sim needs to have reached level 10 of the gemology skill. This is so easy because you’ve been doing so many gemology tasks up until this point. Anything you do on the gemology table will gain your sim this skill so just keep cutting gemstones and making jewelry.
If you have The Sims 4: Discover University you can even send your sim to take a gemology skill class on either campus!

The final task for this aspiration is to summon the grim reaper, scary, but I love it. So, for this you need to get your hands on a Jet crystal. These are one of the rarest crystals and are hard to find naturally by breaking rocks, however, I got one many times on my crystal tree!
Since you’ve already planted your crystal tree and its magnificent quality, you’ll probably get some too. So, keep growing your tree and harvesting it every time that it has crystals on it. You can click it and choose harvest crystals and get all the crystals in your sim’s inventory to make into gemstones or jewelry.

Once you have the Jet crystal you’ll head to the gemology table and choose to either cut a gemstone or create a jewelry design. I decided to craft my Jet into a skull shaped gemstone.

Then you need to charge it on the charging grid. It’ll charge overnight and you can hover over the crystal grid at any time to see how long until its charged.

When the Jet crystal item is fully charged you’ll be able to click on it and choose summon grim reaper. If you chose a jewelry piece and your sim is wearing it you can find this by clicking on the jewelry item in your sim’s inventory.

When you do this the grim reaper will appear near your sim and you can be friendly with them, or mean, it’s up to you!
Attuned Reward Trait
When your sim finishes the sims 4 crystal crafter aspiration they’ll be given the attuned reward trait. This trait’s description reads “Attuned sims have great insights into the mysteries of crystals. The jewelry they wear will remain charged for longer, and they can absorb energy from charged crystals.”

Something you can do with the attuned trait is absorb the energy of charged items. You’ll click on anything with a charge and you’ll get a moodlet from it!
