How to Win The Cow Competition in The Sims 4

If you think your cow is the best, you’ll need to enter the sims 4 cow competition in Henford-On-Bagley.

This comes from The Sims 4: Cottage Living where your sim will enter at The Finchwick Fair!

How to Enter the Cow Competition

The Cow Competition occurs every few weeks at The Finchwick Cow Fair. This event happens on a Saturday between 3:30 and 9:30PM but you won’t be judged until after it’s over so be prepared to stay later than that.

Before you leave your lot you’ll need to make sure you bring your cow. To do this you need to put your cow in your sim’s inventory. You can click on a cow and find the put in inventory option and the cow will appear in your sim’s inventory so you can enter the competition.

Once you get to the fair you’ll see some animal houses around. You’ll want to click on one of them and choose submit entry and a menu will open where you can choose your cow.

You’ll leave your cow there and wait to be judged, but you can interact with your cow while you’re there to keep them happy.

How to Win The Cow Competition in The Sims 4

There are a few factors that are going to go into your sim’s ability to win this competition. This includes your sim’s relationship with their cow, how well-cared for the cow is as well as the cow’s rarity.

Having a Good Relationship with Your Cow

If you want to win and have a happy cow, you’ll need to make sure that you have a great relationship with your cow. You can do this through socialization with the cow and your relationship can grow after just a few days!

Entering a Well-Cared for Cow

Before you head to the Cow Fair you’ll need to take care of your cow and make sure they are happy. You’ll want to clean your cow so they are presentable, as well as making sure they are fed and well socialized. A happy cow is a winning cow!

Entering Rainbow Cows

The biggest factor in getting first place is entering a rare cow instead of just a regular one.

You’ll want to turn your cow into a rainbow cow by feeding them a rainbow treat. You will need to get your first rainbow treat through gameplay by obtaining animal treat recipes. After that you can make a rainbow treat on the fridge with the following ingredients:

  • Blue Egg
  • Green Egg
  • Orange Egg

You can get coloured eggs by feeding hens specific treats (i.e., the veggie treat will result in green eggs).

Being Judged at the Cow Competition

At the fair the mayor will be walking around to each submission and judging them. If you want to play it risky you can click on the mayor and offer them a bribe to try and win without actually being the best. However, this can backfire completely!

There are four types of outcomes from a competition like this. Your sim can win either first place, second place, third place or get a participation ribbon. Winning anything other than first will not count toward the village fair ribbons collection.

After the fair is over you’ll see everything disappear and you’ll get a notification letting you know what place you’ve come in. Hopefully you’ll be told that it’s first!

You’ll also get a notification telling you what prizes you got in return. My sim got:

  • 1 Rainbow Treat
  • 1 First Place Cow Competition Ribbon

Your prizes will end up in your sim’s inventory and you can hang your ribbon on the wall! This is an awesome prize because it’s part of the village fair ribbons collection.
