You also have the option to add lot traits to make things easier:
- Fast Internet: Sims in a house with the fast internet lot trait will gain both the programming and video gaming skills faster.
Stages of the Aspiration
There are four stages of the computer whiz aspiration to play through and as you finish tasks you’ll get lots of satisfaction points to spend!
Stage One: With The Program

- Practice Programming for 5 Total Hours
The very first thing you need to do for this aspiration is practice programming for 5 hours. This is a cumulative number, so you don’t need to do it for five straight hours.

You’ll find the option to practice programming on a computer, usually in the initial menu!
- Play Video Games for 5 Total Hours
You’ll also need to play video games for 5 total hours. This is super easy and there’s multiple places you can do it, the first being the computer. You’ll find play game and then get to choose which game to play.

You can also satisfy this need by playing games on the gaming mat, on your phone or on a console with a television.
Stage Two: Technically Adept

- Maintain Focus for 2 Straight Hours of Video Gaming
The first task for the second stage is to maintain focus while video gaming for two hours. To do this you’ll first need to get your sim to feel focused and there’s tons of ways to do that. The easiest way is to ponder moves on a chess board.

Some other ways to get focused include:
- Browse Simpedia on a Computer
- Research Gardening on a Computer (Available at Level 2 of Gardening Skill)
- Add a Mathematical Diagram to the Wall (Painted While Feeling Focused)
- Listen to New Age Music (From Spa Day)
- Study a Fossil or Element
Once you feel focused you’ll go over to the computer and choose a video game to play, and you’ll need your sim to stay focused for the entire 2 hours. Since you need to stay focused you’ll want to make sure your sim has multiple focused moodlets so other moods don’t take over.

The next thing your sim must do is reach level 3 of the programming skill. Since you’ve already done some practice programming you’ll have already started gaining this skill.
You can gain this skill with any interactions under the program category on a computer including hacking and making plugins. Just keep working on it and you’ll get there in no time, or use stats.set_skill_level major_programming 3 to cheat it!
- Own ยง3000 Worth of Electronics
The final part of this stage is to purchase 3000 simoleons worth of electronics. This means anything under the electronics category including radios, computers and televisions. That’s a pretty easy thing to do!

Stage Three: Computer Geek

- Become an Adult
Everything up until this point can be finished while your seem is a teenager, but now it’s time to grow up! For this you’ll need to either have created your sim as a young adult or older, or have a teenager age up from teen to young adult.
- Reach Level 3 of the Tech Guru Career
Part of being a computer whiz is earning money through a job to use your skills. Your sim will need to join the tech guru career by clicking find a job on the phone or in the career panel. Then, a selection menu will appear and you can scroll down and choose tech guru and join the career.

Every career has promotion tasks that are necessary for getting further in the career and for this your sim is going to need to gain specific levels of both the programming and video gaming skill. Each day you’ll have a daily task that you need to do before you go back to work which are super easy.

Early on that task is video gaming and eventually it will be programming which applies to anything under the programming category.
- Make a Video Game or an App
Your sim now needs to make either a video game or a mobile app with their programming skill. The option to make a mobile app is unlocked at level 7 of the skill. You’ll find it under the program category on a computer.

The option to make a video game is unlocked at level 9 of the programming skill. You’ll find that under the programming category too!

Both of these tasks take a decent amount of time but you don’t need to do it all at once. Your sim is able to go back and keep working on these things later if you’re busy or have to go to work. The best part? When you make apps or video games your sims will start getting daily royalty payments!
Stage Four: Computer Whiz

- Reach Level 5 of the Tech Guru Career
The final stage of this aspiration has your sim need to get to level 5 of the tech guru career. To make this happen you just need to keep earning the video gaming and programming skill. Make sure you head to work in a good mood and do your daily task.
To get your sims promoted faster you can also get them to work hard by clicking on them while they’re at work and changing normal to work hard.

This will decrease their fun need and can give a tense moodlet when they come home, but it’s worth it to get promoted faster.
- Have Spent 100 Hours on The Computer
The final task to finish this aspiration is to spend 100 hours on the computer. This number is cumulative meaning it counts all of the time your sim has already used before reaching this part of the aspiration.
You can do literally anything on the computer to make this happen from programming and video gaming to researching to writing books to publish. Your sim just needs to be on a computer!
Webmaster Bonus Trait
When your sim finishes the sims 4 computer whiz aspiration they’ll be given the Webmaster reward trait. This trait’s description says “Webmasters get the most out of their computers, unlocking extremely useful ways to use them.”

This trait gives some fun new things your sims can do to have a more powerful computer. One example is your sims can Earn Money Turking which is an easy to do task where your sim will earn small amounts of simoleons!
