The Sims 4 Communication Skill Guide (Toddlers)
When you’re young you need to learn how to speak to others and your toddlers can do this with the sims 4 communication skill!
You really want your toddlers to be able to communicate because as they gain this skill they are going to be able to ask for what they need and have fun conversations with their family members!
How to Gain The Communication Skill
The first way to gain this skill is by having an older sim use the teach to talk interaction. This will have the older sim kneel on the ground and chat with the toddler while the toddler makes lots of animated faces.
The next way you can gain this skill is by chatting with the large teddy bears in the game. You’ll start by being able to babble with them and at level 3 it will change to talk as your toddler gains the skill.
At level two of the skill you’ll unlock the ability to use flashcards to learn animals for the communication skill. The older sim will kneel on the ground showing the toddler cute animated cards with animal faces all over.
The next way you can gain this skill is through the Wabbit Tablet. This tablet has games for every skill but potty. This will also fill your toddlers fun need! You’ll want to choose watch toddler videos.
When you reach level four of the skill you’ll unlock the ability to learn objects from flash cards with an older sim.
Levels of the Sims 4 Communication Skill
There are five levels of the communication skill for your toddlers to learn and as they gain the skill they are going to be unlocking new abilities and fun social interactions.

| Level 3 | Toddlers can now talk. They can talk about toys, talk about trucks, yell at or say nonsense to others. They can ask for dessert. They can learn other socials by increasing other skills as well. |
| Level 4 | Toddlers can now talk about party, talk about favourite animal, and tell knock knock jokes. They can also learn objects from flash cards. |
| Level 5 | Toddler has fully developed their verbal skills. They can now tell stories, tell goofy stories and talk about dinosaurs. |
Age Age Up Skill Bonus
My favourite thing about working on toddler and child skills is that they can give you a jump start on skills when your sim ages up.
If you get a toddlers skill to level 3 they will start with an almost full level 1 bar, which is pretty much just two levels.
If you max out a skill your sim will get level 2 of the skill but it’s filled to 94% so you’re practically at level 3.
The communication skill is directly tied to the social skill for kids. So, if you max the communication skill you’ll start with almost level 3 of social.
How to Cheat The Sims 4 Communication Skill
The best part about The Sims 4 is all the cheats you can use! If you want your toddlers to be great at communicating but don’t want to put in all that work you can decide to just cheat the skill instead. You’ll just need to know stats.set_skill_level Skill_Toddler_Communication 5 to max the skill.
If you want a different level of the skill you can just go ahead and change the five at the end to whatever level of the skill you’d rather your toddler have from 1-4.
