The Sims 4 Bowling Skill Guide

If you want your sims to have a fun night out the sims 4 bowling skill is a fun thing to play with.

This comes to the game with The Sims 4: Bowling Night Stuff and brings fun interactions for your sim’s families!

What is Bowling Good For?

Bowling doesn’t have any true benefits like careers or earning money. It’s really just something fun and vibey you can do with your sims as a way to have a fun night out with the family, you know?

How to Gain The Sims 4 Bowling Skill

The only way to gain the bowling skill is through bowling. There are no skill books to read, no classes to attend, just bowling. To bowl, you’ll need to purchase the bowling alley item from the build catalog and add it to your sim’s lot, or add a bowling alley lot to your world that your sims can attend.

Once you have a bowling alley that they can use you’ll want to click on it and choose which length of bowling you want to do. If you want your sims to play for longer, choose the 10 frame game.

As you continue through the skill building your sims will get higher points in the game and be able to choose different balls. The coolest one is definitely the clear skull ball where you can see a cool skull inside, very funky.

Ideal Mood for Bowling

The emotions that your sims have are actually important to gaining skills. If they are in the right mood they will gain skills more quickly, so you need to know what mood is best.

For bowling, you want your sims to be feeling focused. You can get them to feel focused by pondering moves on a chess board or hanging mathematical diagrams around the room where you’re bowling.

Best Traits for Being a Bowler

When you make a new sim or they age up, you should think about the traits you give them based on what skills you want them to gain. The traits your sims have can make skill gains easier and better and these are good ones for bowling:

  • Genius: Sims with this trait are going to get random focused moodlets which can boost skill gains
  • Practice Makes Perfect: Sims with this traits gain skills slower at first but faster once they get through a few levels, so you’ll get those last few levels faster.
  • Cheerful: Sims with the cheerful trait can get random happy moodlets, these can stack with focused and make it stronger

You can also add the science lair lot trait to your sim’s lot if they have a bowling alley in their home. This lot trait gives random focused moodlets that can help gain the skill more quickly.

How to Cheat The Sims 4 Bowling Skill

The bowling skill is a silly skill that you may want to cheat so your sim can prove their better than their loved ones. You’ll justt need to know one simple thing stats.set_skill_level skill_bowling 5 to max the skill.

If you want a different level of the skill, you’ll just want to change the 5 to whatever level of the skill you want instead.

Levels of the Sims 4 Bowling Skill

The bowling skill is considered a minor skill in The Sims 4. This means there are only five levels to gain! This skill doesn’t give you much except for new balls you can choose as you gain the skill.

Level 1Sims can play different bowling games including 3, 5 and 10 frames.
Level 2Your sim is slightly better at bowling and can now select the red swirl ball from the rack.
Level 3Your sim will stumble less often when releasing the ball. They can now choose the gold glitter bowling ball.
Level 4Sims will fail less often when throwing the ball and will start throwing more strikes. They can now bowl with the marbled blue bowling ball.
Level 5Your sim has perfected their bowling form and skill. They can choose the clear skull ball when bowling. They will now wear a bowling glove while playing and throw strikes more often.

Upgrading Your Bowling Alley

If you really want to have the best bowling experience you need to add the moonlight bowling upgrade. This is unlocked with the handiness skill and requires 3 common and 2 electronic upgrade parts.

Once you’ve added the upgrade you’ll want to click and choose enable moonlight bowling and then you’ll see the goodies.

When you click on this, all the lights in the room will turn off and new lights will appear on the bowling alley. As the ball rolls down lights will travel with it and it’s just so fun.

You need to do this upgrade on each bowling alley individually as it only applies to one at a time. So if you truly want the vibes, you have to do them all.
