How to Make Excellent Quality Drinks in The Sims 4
When you create anything in The Sims 4 there is a quality system in place. This applies to paintings, woodworking, food and drinks, of course.
There are actually many factors that can impact your sim’s ability to make excellent quality drinks, so let’s go over all of them now!
Your Sim’s Traits and Lot Traits
The traits your sim has can have a huge impact on their ability to create high quality items:
- Perfectionist: Sims with the perfectionist trait are going to take a bit longer when making drinks but they are more likely to make high quality items.
- Creative: The ideal mood for mixology is inspired so you’ll want to make them creative so they get inspired moodlets randomly.
- Essence of Flavor: This trait is given to sims who start with a food aspiration like the appliance wiz aspiration and gives them a higher chance of making high quality drinks.
Having any of these traits is awesome for improving your chances! You can also add lot traits to your game to increase your chances:
- Homey: The homey trait is great because it makes your sim gain the mixology skill faster and a higher skill will help you make higher quality drinks.
- Sunny Aspect: This trait comes with The Sims 4: City Living and gives your sim a random moodlet at 6PM each day. The trait will be either happy, inspired or energized and you can use the inspired ones to your advantage!
Your Sim’s Level of the Mixology Skill
Obviously a sim who has level 1 of the skill will make worse drinks than a sim who has a maxed level of the skill! If your sim is unable to make an excellent quality drink you should focus your efforts on gaining more levels of the mixology skill by practicing making drinks on a bar or reading mixology skill books.
If you want to just cheat the skill use stats.set_skill_level major_bartending 10 to max it out. Or, you can change the number 10 at the end of the cheat to a number between 1 and 9.
Your Sim’s Mood and Needs
Every skill in the game has an ideal mood attached to it that will help your sim gain it faster and will help them make higher quality outputs. The ideal mood for mixology is inspired and when your sim is feeling inspired they will make better drinks.
To get your sim to feel inspired you can do it easily by taking a thoughtful shower which will give them a +1 inspired moodlet for 4 hours.
You also need to make sure that your sim is well taken care of. A sim who is hungry and tired won’t make high quality drinks!
All of these factors go into the quality of the drinks your sim is able to make. Doing a few of these things can be so helpful and get you to make those high quality drinks so fast so you can become a master mixologist!
