How to License Songs for Royalties in The Sims 4

If you want to finish the musical genius aspiration you’ll need to know how to license songs for royalties in The Sims 4.

This is a great way to earn a little side income for your sims and start using your instrument abilities for good.

How to License Songs for Royalties in The Sims 4

At level 8 of the instrument skills (i.e., piano, violin, pipe organ, and the guitar skill) your sim will be able to start writing their own songs. This is a fun way your sims can show their creativity!

Well, what can you do with those songs after? You can play them in public for tips or you can license them for royalties to earn some passive income.

When your sim finishes a song you’ll be able to click on the mailbox and choose license > your instrument and pick the song you want to license. You’ll get a notification that says “Your sim just licensed a song to MPR’s morning news show! Look for royalty payments to start soon.”

Unfortunately you can only license one song per week so you should choose your highest quality song to license.

Once your song is licensed you’ll start to get royalties each day at 10AM and the money will be immediately deposited into your household funds.
