How to Learn Spells in The Sims 4

Being a spellcaster is only going to be fun if you can learn spells in The Sims 4 so you can do magic.

The ability to do magic comes with The Sims 4: Realm of Magic and is one of my favourite things.

Learning spells is important so you can increase your rank and make your sims lives more interesting.

How to Learn Spells in The Sims 4

Once your sim has become a spellcaster you definitely want to have a bunch of spells that you can do. There are actually a whole bunch of ways to learn spells, so it’s a really fun task to do!

The first thing you can do is click on your sim at any time and choose practice magic.

You’ll be able to choose between the three types of magic and practice that specific type and during this practice there’s a chance your sim may learn a new spell.

Your next option to learn spells in The Sims 4 is to go directly to the sages. These are the three powerful spellcasters that hangout in the magic HQ. Each of them has a different type of magic they teach.

The first is the pink sage (L. Faba) for mischief magic. So, you’ll go the pink sage who is usually located in the basement and click on them and go to magic > ask to teach mischief magic.

With mischief magic you’ll learn spells like:

  • Despario: Gives a +10 Sad Moodlet to the target sim
  • Furio: Convinces sims to fight each other
  • Infatuate: Convinces sims to get romantic together

The next type is untamed magic that you learn from the red and yellow sage (Morgyn Ember). They’re usually on the main floor of the magic HQ!

The types of spells your sim will learn with untamed magic include:

  • Inferniate: Sets other sims on fire
  • Necrocall: Summon the dead from their final resting place
  • Dedeathify: Restores a ghost to a sim

The final type of magic you can learn from sages is practical magic, which is my favourite. You’ll learn this from the blue and green sage (Simeon Silversweater) who honestly can be found anywhere in the Magic HQ!

The types of spells you can learn with practical magic include:

  • Repairio: Fixes a Broken Object
  • Scruberoo: Make something (or someone) squeaky clean
  • Delicioso: Creates food out of thin air

These are the best because it makes your sims life so much easier.

The next way you can learn new spells is to duel for knowledge. You’ll find this by clicking on another spellcaster and choosing magic > magic duel > duel for knowledge.

If you win the duel your sim can learn a new spell!

At any point you are able to click on your sim and then choose magic > open spellbook and you can see every spell you’ve ever learned and what it does!

Well, now that you’re a spellcaster who knows how to learn spells you can go off and finish the spellcraft & sorcery aspiration or chaos chaos with all the fun spells you know!
