How to Learn a Potion Recipe in The Sims 4

When you learn a potion recipe in The Sims 4 you unlock so many new things to do with magic.

You’ll need to learn tons of recipes to make the most of it, and all of this comes with The Sims 4: Realm of Magic!

How to Learn a Potion Recipe in The Sims 4

There are a couple ways you can learn a new potion recipe in the magical world. The first way is through tomes which are magical books that your sim can read to learn new potions.

There are two ways I’ve found to get my hands on tomes, the first way is to head to The Magic Realm and go to the Magic HQ building. Inside you’ll find lots of bookcases and you can click on them and choose search for tomes.

If your sim was successful in finding a tome it’ll appear in their inventory and you can click on it and choose study magical tome. Your sim will sit and read it and you’ll get a notification telling you that your sim has learned a new potion recipe!

You also have the option to go to the other area in The Magic Realm which is Caster’s Alley where there are fun magical shops. You’ll find the building that lets you buy wands, tomes & familiars and you can click that and a menu will appear and you can buy a rotating stock of tomes.

The other way you can learn a potion is to experiment on a cauldron. You’ll click on it and choose experiment and your sim will eventually get a notification telling you that you’ve learned a new potion.

To truly be a purveyor of potions you’ll need to learn as many potion recipes as you can! Then you can start doing cool things like forcing friendship and filling needs.
