How to Improve Luck in The Sims 4
Your sim’s luck has a huge impact on their life, so you should know how to improve luck in The Sims 4.
Luck can impact so many things from foraging to collectibles to quality of crafting and even more, so it’s a big deal.
This whole system comes with The Sims 4: Enchanted by Nature, so you need that pack for this.
How to Improve Luck in The Sims 4
Through gameplay I’ve found five fun ways you can improve your sim’s luck. Of course, your sim’s balance levels are going to have an impact on their luck on any given day as well!
Drinking Lucky Liquid
The first thing you can do is to use the apothecary skill to craft lucky liquid. This is unlocked at level 7 of the skill and requires your sim to have a few ingredients:
- 3 Lemons
- 1 Scared Emotion Potion
- 4 Small Critter Bones
When you craft this it will appear in your sim’s inventory and if you drink it, your sim will get a +1 Confident moodlet called Luck Be an Elixir that lasts 24 hours.

After drinking my sim’s luck went from bad to good, skipping the ordinary level entirely!
Asking Spruce Almighty
Your next option is to seek the help of Spruce Almighty, an NPC from the Sprucederry Grove neighbourhood. To find this sim you first need to find the broken tree with a face that’s surrounded by a circle of greenery.

You’ll click on this and choose summon and Spruce will come out. You can introduce your sim and become friends and click on them and go to spruce almighty in the menu and click get help with luck and you may get a luck improvement.

Asking The Great Gnome
Another option you have is to ask the Great Gnome! This is a huge statue located in the Coast of Adhmor neighbourhood of Innisgreen.

When you click this statue you’ll choose ask great gnome for good luck and if successful your luck will improve. You’ll know it works if you get a notification letting you know!
Shifting Luck as a Fairy
When fairies are increasing their rank they’ll get to purchase fun perks that give them new powers. You can purchase the shift luck and shift another’s luck perks for your fairy to be able to increase or decrease luck.

If you purchase shift luck, you can only shift the luck of the fairy who has the perk. If you purchase shift another’s luck, you can have that fairy change the luck of others.

However, sims don’t like being test subjects for your fairy magic so they may develop a fear of magic and have their relationship with you decrease.
Carrying Around Luck Charms
The final way I’ve found to increase my sim’s luck is to carry around a luck charm. There are two that can be created, one that increases luck which is the freezer bunny foot, and one that decreases it which is the cowplant horn.

These can be purchased sometimes from Apothecary Todd’s stall in the Sprucederry Grove neighbourhood. You can also craft them on an apothecary table at level six of the apothecary skill!
The best part? You can have your sim carry around more than one to have even more of an impact on their luck. However, these are only charmed for 48 hours after crafting them but you can use fairy dust to recharm them.
There is so much going on with the luck system in the game, because it has impacts on so many parts of your sim’s life from career progress to collecting. A bad luck day can equal a day full of kitchen fires! Keep that luck high for a good life.
