There are a bunch of factors to getting good grades from your sim’s mood to their homework to their skills. All of them are important and have little details you should know to maximize your sim’s grades.

The first thing you should always do is send your teenager to school in a good mood. They should go to school with high needs and in a good mood (i.e., happy, confident, focused) and not a negative mood (i.e., angry, embarrassed or sad).

You’ll want to satisfy their requirements for school each day as well. When you’re a teenager you’ll need to gain skills to be able to get a higher grade. To go from C to B you’ll need level 2 of any skill and you’ll need level 3 of any skill to go from B to A.

A great way to gain performance in school faster is to study hard. When your sim is at school you can click on the little icon above their head and click on it and choose study hard instead of normal. Your sim will come home with a low fun need and sometimes a tense moodlet, but it’s worth it.

Always Do Your Homework

Each day that your teenager goes to school they’ll need to do their homework. You’ll find their blue homework book in their inventory when they age up from child to teen.

To do your sim’s homework you can click on it and choose do homework. You can even have an adult sim click on them and choose to help with homework to make it get done quicker if you’re strapped for time.

When a sim gets a B grade in school they can start doing extra credit work after they’ve completed their regular homework. To do this you can click on the blue homework book after you’ve finished the regular homework and the option will be there.

Doing your homework is a requirement for each day of school and has a small impact on performance, but extra credit gives you a lot more performance!

Doing School Projects

If you have The Sims 4: Parenthood in your game you can also do school projects. Sometimes these come home from school with your child and you should finish them within 48 hours so your sim can get that extra credit.

These school projects are also available for purchase from the build menu so you can get your teenagers to do multiple of these in a week to get that extra performance boost.

When you have a school project and want to do well in school you should always do the start working carefully option. Working sloppily will make the work lower quality and won’t earn you as much performance!
