How to Become Alpha of the Wildfangs in The Sims 4

If you want to be the best you’ll want to become alpha of the Wildfangs in The Sims 4.

The Wildfangs are a group of werewolves that you can access if you have The Sims 4: Werewolves!

When you become a member of the Wildfangs your sim will have a new section in their social groups panel. This panel will have three categories listed of tasks that are encouraged by the group and will help you gain experience to increase your rank.

Alpha is the highest rank of the group, so you’ll need to work hard on doing the three categories which each have a bunch of tasks you can do!

Pack Participation

“Maintain good relationships with your pack mates, give plenty of pack mate gifts, and contribute to pack resources at the hangout.”

Your first option is all about being a good member of the pack. To do this you can spend time at the hangout and chat with other members to grow your relationships.

If there are no members at the hangout you can can click on it at any time and invite others to come hangout so you have friends to make.

You’ll also want to give gifts to your pack mates by clicking on other members and choosing give pack mate gift. A menu will open where you can choose which item from your sim’s inventory to give.

Finally, you can click on the trailer to contribute to pack resources. You can give anything from your sim’s inventory but some good options include food and collectibles!

Expand and Explore

“Explore the Moonwood Mill underground, travel to remote or hard-to-reach locales, Mark your territory, and meet non-werewolf Sims that have something… different about them”

Your first option for the expand and explore category is to explore the underground in Moonwood Mill. There are entrances to the underground around the world and you can explore from any of them. When you do you’ll get action cards letting you make choices about what your sim does and when you exit the area you’ll get some pack XP.

The next option you have is to “travel to remote or hard-to-reach locales” which is vague but you have a few options. This includes the top of the peak in Moonwood Mill which is where you can harvest moonpetal during a full moon.

You can also travel to the secret locations of Forgotten Grotto or Sylvan Glade. You can get to Sylvan Glade through the fancy tree in Willow Creek and Forgotten Grotto is found by going to a special door area in the back of the Oasis Springs Park.

You can even try and use your sim’s rocket science skill if you have Get to Work installed and go to Planet Sixam. You’ll do this by installing the Wormhole Generator!

Your next option for this category is to have your sim mark their territory. You’ll need to purchase the rank 1 Territory Marking werewolf ability. Once you have it you can click on the ground and choose to mark territory and your sim will pee on the ground.

Finally, your sim can meet “non-werewolf sims that have something different about them” which means other occult sims. This kind of bugs me because it means you need other DLC to do this. You can meet the following types of sims:

  • Vampires from The Sims 4: Vampires
  • Fairies from The Sims 4: Enchanted by Nature
  • Aliens from The Sims 4: Get to Work
  • Mermaids from The Sims 4: Island Living
  • Spellcasters from The Sims 4: Realm of Magic

Self-Improvement

“Get fit and spar with pack mates, level up to higher tiers of werewolf, read werewolf books from around Moonwood Mill, unlock your dormant abilities, and maybe even provoke Greg for the ultimate challenging fight.”

In the self-improvement category you start with being able to spar with pack mates. To do a werewolf spar you need to first unlock transformation mastery which is one of the dormant abilities.

To unlock this you need to get through a full fury induced rampage as a werewolf without scaring any sims. The easiest way to do this is to lock your sim inside of their house before the rampage starts and don’t let them out.

Once you unlock transformation mastery you’ll be able to click on your sim’s pack mates and choose werewolf spar and the two sims will fight. However, some people are “friends of” the Wildfangs and are still sims, so you can’t spar with those sims.

Your next option is to keep levelling up your werewolf rank. Each time you do any werewolf interactions from sparring to marking your territory to going hunting your sim will gain werewolf XP which all add up to growing their rank.

Your next option is to read werewolf books which you can either get through purchasing them on a bookcase or by using the scavenge ability to find rare books in the ground. These rare books are also where you find the wolf-b-gone recipe to stop being a werewolf.

The next option is to unlock dormant abilities, there are six of these available and you can see them right next to the abilities you can buy with perk points. Each ability requires your sim to do something specific to unlock it.

  • Lunar Epiphany
    • Unlocked by reading werewolf books and re-reading them until your sim can understand the items in the margins.
  • Werewolf Diplomacy
    • Unlocked by using the ask for werewolf sympathy on a non-werewolf sim and it being successful. You’ll need to use it on a sim your werewolf is friends with.
  • Werewolf Empathy
    • Unlocked by reaching at least the Delta rank in either the Moonwood Collective or the Wildfangs.
  • Transformation Mastery
    • Unlocked by getting through a fury induced rampage without scaring any sims.
  • Werewolf Mentorship
    • Unlocked by using interactions like offer pack mentorship, share werewolf experiences, and practice howling.
  • Werewolf Menace
    • Unlocked by scaring a sim repeatedly with the ferocious intimidation and vicious howl werewolf abilities.

Finally, your sim can go find Greg in the top left area of Moonwood Mill and provoke him to start a fight!

Becoming the alpha of the Wildfangs is a requirement for the Wildfang Renegade aspiration and will let you become the new pack leader!
