How to Become a Parent in The Sims 4
There are actually a number of ways you can become a parent in the game! The first way is that you can adopt a child by clicking on your sim’s phone and choosing call adoption agency under the household menu.
This will open a menu where you can choose a child from a list that includes infants, toddlers and children. When you do this your sim will go into a rabbit hole and come back with a child and your sim will be their parent.
The rest of the options all include getting a sim pregnant to have a baby. To do this naturally you must have two sims who are in a romantic relationship try for baby which you can find by clicking on a bed (or any other woohoo location).
After you try for baby you can send the sim to the toilet to take a pregnancy test to find out if they are pregnant, or just wait and see if they start puking and getting a little fatter.
You can also get pregnant by having a “science baby” instead. This option is found under the household menu on a sim’s phone and you can do it as a single parent or do it with another sim.
The science baby with other sim option is great for sims who are in same-sex couples who can’t get pregnant through woohoo! These science baby options will cost your sims ยง1,200!
When your sim is pregnant you’ll get a notification letting you know and they’ll have a moodlet you can hover over to see how far along they are. There are 3 trimesters your sims will go through and once you hit the third your sim can have the baby at any time.
You’ll get a notification when your sim goes into labour that’s bright orange and the pregnant sim will start feeling uncomfortable at that time. You can purchase a bassinet and get them to have the baby right away or wait until they have it naturally.
If you have The Sims 4: Get to Work you can even go ahead and have the baby at a hospital!
