How to Get Postcards in The Sims 4
Gathering collections are super fun and the sims 4 postcards collection is a really fun one to display.
These postcards can make your sim’s house feel super personal and adorable!
How to Get Postcards in The Sims 4
There are two types of post cards that you can get, the first are from the base game and are from pen pals, the second are from The Sims 4: My First Pet Stuff and are from rodents.
Asking a Pen Pal
These post cards are sent to you by sims living in those areas and you’ll meet these sims by getting a pen pal. You’ll want to click on your sim’s computer and go to the socialize menu and choose find a pen pal.

When you do this you’ll get a notification that says “I’ve posted on the pen pal forums. Now to wait and see if anyone responds!”
You’ll need to wait a few hours, at least 12, and then go to that same socialize menu and choose check for pen pal replies. You’ll get a notification telling you where your new pen pal is from and you’ll have new options in the socialize menu.

Each time you use the “find a pen pal” option you’ll get one pen call after checking for replies. After you check for replies you can find a pen pal again to start the process to get another one.
Before being able to ask for a postcard from your pen pal you first need to write them a letter. You’ll find this under socialize > write letter to and you’ll choose them by their location.

After you’ve written them a letter you’ll see ask for postcard from appear and this is how you ask for postcards!

These post cards will come in the mail a few days after asking for them! So, you’ll need to find a pen pal from each area for the regular pen pal post cards and ask each of them for a post card to collect them all.
Getting Postcards from Rodents
With The Sims 4: My First Pet Stuff you can purchase a house for rodents and having one of these in your household will have you getting postcards from time to time. For this you’ll just need to wait a while.

You’ll see your rodent go on little adventures and leave you a note telling you that they’ll be back eventually. When they return, they may give you a postcard to commemorate their adventures!

If you’re having trouble getting these, it’s just patience. You just need to keep you rodent happy and they’ll go on adventures, I’ve found neglected pets never want to do things.
Displaying Your Postcards
The most fun place to display your postcards is on a cork board. You can purchase one for post cards from the build catalog.

However, there is a small cork board at the bottom of the rodent house so you can display those cards there!

Types of Post Cards
There are different types of post cards to find, you’ll see them have a rarity between common, uncommon and rare for each. Plus, there are pen pal postcards from the base game and rodent post cards from My First Pet Stuff.
