How to Get Elements in The Sims 4

There are a ton of collections to discover and the sims 4 elements collection is an interesting one.

This collection is fun because you have to find other items (metals and crystals) and have them analyzed and processed into elements, making it take a bit more effort.

How to Get Elements in The Sims 4

There are a few ways you can get elements for your collection from crystals and metals. You can send them to the Geo Council to be processed or you can decide to get into archaeology instead.

Sending Metals to the Geological Council

The first way you can get sims 4 elements is by finding different metals but breaking rocks around the world and then clicking them in your sim’s inventory and choosing to Send to Geo Council.

When you do this you’ll get a notification that says “The sample has been sent to the National Sim Geological Council for elemental isolation. Expect your isolated elements to be mail to you in the next day or so!”

In the next few days (usually the next morning) you’ll see the mail arrive and if you click your sim’s mailbox and choose get mail the elements will be in your sim’s inventory. After collecting the first one you’ll get a notification saying “Congratulations on starting your element collection! To really show them off, considering purchasing an Elemental Display Rack.”

The type of element you get depends on what type of metal you send. Each metal has a couple options for which elements you’ll get back when you send it to the Geo council.

Sending Crystals to the Geo Council

Just like with metals you can send Crystals to the Geo Council to be analyzed and you’ll get back an element to add to the display rack collection. You’ll click it the same way and get back the element the next day!

Extracting Elements from Crystals & Metals with Archaeology

If you have The Sims 4: Jungle Adventure installed in your game you have access to the archaeology skill and your sim is able to extract elements from Crystals and Metals on the archaeology table.

To do this you’ll need either a crystal or a metal in your sim’s inventory and you’ll click on the archaeology table and choose extract element and a menu will open asking which one you’d like to do. Your sim will place it on the table and start analyzing it until the element is extracted.

The best part is that it doesn’t consume the item, so you can extract the element while keeping the crystal or metal.

Displaying Your Elements

A fun part about the sims 4 elements collection is that it comes with a specific display system that you can use. It’s called the Elemental Display Rack and you can purchase it for your sim’s household for 85 simoleons.

When you purchase this item it’ll be empty and as you find the elements you can drag them from your sim’s inventory into this item and they’ll take their specific spot!

Unfortunately, the Xenopetrium element from The Sims 4: Get to Work doesn’t slot into the display rack as it was added after this item was put in the game.

Getting Focused With Elements

The best part about elements is that you can use them for a quick boost to being focused. Being focused is great for learning skills like logic, fishing and more. The first way you can get a focused boost is by using an element’s emotional aura.

To do this you’ll click on the element on any surface and choose enable emotional aura. Then, when a sim is around this item they’l get a +1 Focused moodlet called Focusing Decor.

Another thing you can do is have you sim click on the item and choose study. Your sim will pick it up and inspect it and get a +1 Focused moodlet called Fascinating Specimen that lasts 4 hours.
