Digging Up Rocks

The most common way to get crystals is to look for a specific rock type around any world in the game. There are three types of rocks (the others give metals and fossils) and you’re looking for the rock with crystals coming out of it.

Charging Your Crystal Jewelry

The best part about using crystals is that when you charge your sim’s jewelry and have them wear it, you can have them have really intense results like skill boosts or an increased change of twins.

After you create a piece of jewelry you’ll need to place it on the Mystical Moonlight Crystal Grid for a few hours overnight. You’ll place this item in your sim’s yard so it can soak in the moonlight.

A screenshot from The Sims 4 showing the build mode catalog. for the Mystical Moonlight Crystal Grid

To place jewelry you’ll click on the grid and choose charge gemstones and jewelry and pick the items you wish to charge. You can also just drag them from your sim’s inventory.

A screenshot from The Sims 4 showing how to charge jewelry on a charging grid

The items will need to charge for many hours, so you’ll leave it there until sunrise and then it will have a charge for two days and it will impact your sims while being worn.

The effect depends on the type of crystal you add to your creation, and there are some cool ones. You’ll see things like moodlets or even the ability to summon the Grim Reaper!
