The Sims 4 Vampire Lore Skill
If you want to be the best vampire, or just know a lot about them you need to learn the sims 4 vampire lore skill.
This comes to the game with, of course, The Sims 4: Vampires.
This skill is all about learning everything you can about vampires so you can either become a master vampire or be a very informed sim!
What is Vampire Lore Good for?
This skill is great if you want to live in Forgotten Hollow but aren’t sure if you trust the vampires. You want knowledge, of course. This skill lets you do things like making potions as well as teaching sims how they can deal with scary vampires.
The best thing is that when you max this skill your sim will gain the ability to make The Ultimate Vampire Cure beverage and you can use this to change your sims back from a vampire to a sim!
How to Gain The Sims 4 Vampire Lore Skill
To start gaining the vampire lore skill you’ll need to use a computer. Your sim will need to research vampire secrets on the computer to gain the first level of the skill and at level two they can purchase books to gain the skill even further.

The next thing you’ll do is purchase the collection of vampire lore skill books, of which there are four. Each has a different cost and will get you a few levels of the skill:
- Encyclopedia Vampirica Volume I §75
- “Origin of the Vampire Species, early history, alternate food sources.”
- This book gets you from level 1 to level 6

- Encyclopedia Vampirica Volume III §250

- This book gets you from level 10 to level 13
- “Sunlight and the importance of sunscreen. Known uses for plasma fruit, garlic and wolfsbane. Vampire dental care techniques.”
- Ultimate Vampire Compendium §1000
- “From anatomy to Zeitgeist. Every detail collected on vampires is compiled here.”
- This books gets you from level 13 to level 15
- “From anatomy to Zeitgeist. Every detail collected on vampires is compiled here.”
You can also gain the skill through asking other sims about vampire history but this skill gain is slow and annoying because you’d have to do it a lot to gain enough of the skill.
Ideal Mood for Learning Vampire Lore
The emotion system was a huge selling point for The Sims 4 and impacts your sims more than you may realize. Each skill has an ideal mood that will let your sims gain the skills more quickly.
The ideal mood for vampire lore is focused! Makes sense, you want your sims to be focused on learning everything to keep themselves safe. To get your sims focused you can ponder moves on a chess board or by using microscopes or telescopes.
Best Traits for Vampire Lore
The traits that you hand to your sims are important and can have an impact on their mood and their skill gains. These traits can help your sims gain vampire lore:
- Genius: Sims who have the genius trait are going to get focused moodlets more often!
- Cheerful: Cheerful is great if you’re trying to have sims who are just in good moods, this gives happy moodlets that can stack with focused.
You also want to consider what lot traits your household has. These two can be fun when working with vampire lore:
- Science Lair: The science lair trait helps with all scientific skills but not necessarily vampire lore. However, this lot trait can give sims random focused moodlets which can be helpful!
- Vampire Nexus: When you give this lot trait to your sims you’ll see more vampires hanging around this lot, which won’t necessarily help the skill but is fun!
How to Cheat The Sims 4 Vampire Lore Skill
Thankfully EA adds great cheats to the game with every skill they add. The cheat you need for vampire lore is slightly different than others because there are 15 levels of the skill instead of 10.
You’ll need to know stats.set_skill_level vampire_lore 15 to max out the skill. If you want a specific level of the skill you’ll just change the 15 at the end to whatever level you want from 1-14.
