How to Get Frogs in The Sims 4

There are a ton of collections in the game and the sims 4 frog collection is one of my favourites.

This collection is available to every player and is great because you can breed them which helps with finding them quicke

Plus, there’s a special one you can get with The Sims 4: Life & Death but that one isn’t breedable.

How to Get Frogs in The Sims 4

finThere are actually a few ways you can get frogs in the game, the first way is by searching one of the three frog locations or you are able to breed frogs with each other in hopes to get new frogs!

Searching for Frogs in Ponds, Logs and Taps

In each world you’ll find different places to get frogs but it comes down to three specific locations. The first one is in a pond where you can also fish but you can click a pond and use the look for frogs option.

The second place to find frogs is a frog log which appears in spawn spots around each world and will appear in different places each day and disappear after use.

The final thing is a frog tap which will be in the same space every day but you need to wait for a 24 hour cooldown before using it again. These are super common in Oasis Springs!

Breeding Frogs

Once you have two or more frogs in your inventory you’ll be able to click on one and chose breed frog with. When you do this a menu will open and you can choose any of your other frogs to breed with.

Once bred, you’ll get a notification telling you that your sim has bred a new frog and you’ll get it in your inventory.

There are specific breeding combinations for frogs that will get you specific results! When you breed two frogs you can get one of the two bred frogs again, one of the base frogs for either frog or a new frog entirely.

Purchasing Frogs at the Flea Market

If you have The Sims 4: City Living installed in the game you can head to the Flea Market each Sunday from 10AM to 6PM. At this event you have a chance of your sim being able to purchase frogs!

The stuff being sold changes each time there is a flea market, but from time to time there will be a sim with a table filled with frogs.

At this event you can get other collectibles like snow globes and city posters too!

Types of Frogs

There are currently 25 frogs in the base game and one frog that comes with The Sims 4: Life & Death. All of these are found by searching in ponds and frog spots. They are separated into three categories, common, uncommon and rare.

In the following days you’ll get the Forlorn Frog Friend plaque delivered to your sim in the mail. It has a description that reads “You have mixed feels about your frogs. Remember when you just had two and they were plainly coloured and less well-patterned? Well, neither do they. What really matters now is that you have a lot of frogs in individual terrariums. Congratulations! The SimValley Frog Fan & Appreciation Society thought you deserved a reminder that frogs have feelings too. Remember to feed them often!”
