The most fun part of this aspiration is influencing the lives of others by answering their phone calls and convincing them to do things!
Gregarious Bonus Trait
When your sim starts with any of the popularity aspirations they will get the gregarious trait given to them. This trait’s description reads “Gregarious sims build friendly relationships faster.”
This is awesome because in this aspiration you’ll need to become good friends with five sims! Having this trait will give your sim a boost to those relationships.
Best Traits for The Sims 4 Neighbourhood Confidante Aspiration
You should always think about traits when choosing an aspiration, here’s some traits that can help your sims be a true confidante:
- Outgoing: Sims who are outgoing will enjoy socializing
- Self-Assured: Sims who are self-assured are going to get random confident moodlets. Well, confident is the best mood for socializing and for gaining the charisma skill which is a key part of this aspiration.
You can also add lot trait to your sim’s household to make them finish aspirations like this one more quickly.
- Convivial: This lot trait is awesome because it helps your sim gain the charisma skill more quickly!
Stages of the Aspiration
There is actually only one stage of the neighbourhood confidante aspiration to play through. There are three tasks to complete and when you do, your sim will get satisfaction points to spend.
Stage One: Neighbourly Advisor
- Successfully Advise and Influence the Lives of Other Sims 20 Times
Influencing the lives of other sims is a really fun thing that was added to give you more control and chaos to the game. I loved this update so much! You have a few options that you can use to do this.
You’ll find the first two options in the social menu under the relationship panel under other sims. Your first option is to talk up another sim to convince someone to chat with them and become friends. You’ll click talk up another sim.
When you do this you’ll see a menu open where you can choose which sim to talk up and the other sim will give you a notification telling you they’ll chat to them soon.
Your next option under the same category is to influence sims to hook up with another sim. When you click this you can choose which sim to tell them to hook up with and you’ll get a notification where they’ll tell you that they’ll introduce themselves.
Another way you can influence the lives of other sims is by answering phone calls from friends. You’ll get phone calls asking for advice for things like relationships and careers. You can pick any of the options and if the sim listens to you it will satisfy this requirement.
- Become Good Friends with 5 Sims
A big part about being able to influence other sims lives and be a true confidant is being good friends with others. Sims aren’t going to ask their acquaintances for advice on their life!
To get to good friends level you just need to work on your sim’s relationship with them by doing any friendly interactions you can. Avoid doing mean or mischief interactions as these can decrease friendship levels.
Your sim will become “good friends” with another sim when they reach 60% percent friendship with them. You can see your friendship at any time in the relationship panel, and you can see if you’ve reached good friends in the profile for another sim which you can open by clicking on them in the relationship panel.
When you become good friends you’ll even get a notification telling you it happened, so you’ll know!
The charisma skill is an easy one to gain, especially since you’ll already be socializing with others. You have a few options for gaining this skill including reading charisma skill books, practicing speech in a mirror or just by chatting with other sims.
You can cheat the skill if you want to by using stats.set_skill_level Major_Charisma 7 and that cheat will satisfy this requirement. You can change the 7 at the end to any number up to 10 to give your sim that level of the skill.
Confidante Reward Trait
When your sim finishes off the sims 4 neighbourhood confidante aspiration they are going to be given the confidante trait. This trait’s description reads “Confidantes are able to easily avoid boring conversations and are more successful in getting to know others.”
These sims are awesome because they will learn more about sims faster, letting you build relationships very quickly.
