How to Use Fairy Dust to Enchant items in The Sims 4
To finish the fairy stories aspiration your sim needs to use fairy dust to enchant items in The Sims 4.
This is a simple thing to do that can be helpful by allowing your sim to not work on their garden or getting gnomes to help them around the house.
How to Use Fairy Dust to Enchant items in The Sims 4
You have a few options when it comes to enchanting items, you can enchant gnomes and plants! Regardless of what you decide to enchant, you’ll need to have fairy dust to do it. There are a bunch of ways you can get fairy dust:
- Ask Fairies
- Get a Daily Ration from the Moseeveil Fairy Hub (Fairies Only)
- Collect Dust After a Fairy Bathes from the Floor
- and more!
Enchanting Gnomes with Fairy Dust
There are four types of enchantments you can do for a garden gnome, and each of them has a specific amount of fairy dust your sim will need to use:
- For Cleaning: 5 Piles of Fairy Dust
- For Gardening: 5 Piles of Fairy Dust
- For Repairs and Upgrades: 10 Piles of Fairy Dust
- For Protecting: 5 Piles of Fairy Dust
Once you’ve collected the appropriate amount of dust, you can click on a garden gnome and choose bring gnome to life with fairy dust and choose which one you’d like to do.
Enchanting Gnomes for Cleaning
When you enchant a gnome for cleaning the gnome will go around your entire house and clean up messes on the floor, deal with trash piles and clean appliances and plumbing items. This would be so helpful when having an 8 sim household and you just can’t keep up!

Enchanting Gnomes for Gardening
When you choose to enchant a gnome for gardening, you’ll be so excited with the results. Your sim can have a huge garden and have these little cuties go around and water, weed, and spray for bugs as they move around the lot.

These gnomes will also drop tons of seed packets, just like the Harvestfest Gnomes from The Sims 4: Seasons do. The gnomes also made all of the plants grow immediately, and many of them were ready to evolve right away!
Enchanting Gnomes for Repairs
When you choose to enchant a gnome for repairs, that gnome will fix any broken items in your home which is so helpful. However, that’s not all!

A gnome enchanted for repairs will also go around the houses upgrading items! This is incredible because there are so many upgrades that can have a positive impact on your sim’s life, but gaining the handiness skill and doing them yourself is time consuming.
Enchanting Gnomes for Protecting
Enchanting gnomes for protecting is definitely the most valuable long term. When you use this enchantment your sim will be saved from evil gnomes, enemy sims and even the grim reaper! You can literally protect your sim from death by keeping an enchanted gnome on your lot.

Enchanting Plants with Fairy Dust
Your other option is to enchant plants, which you can do to both gardening plants and household plants. Both options are going to require your sim to have five piles of fairy dust to enchant them.
You’ll click on either of these plants and click enchant plant and you’ll see Enchanted (3d) next to it. The 3d next to it means that it’ll last 3 days total so you will need to enchant it again after three days.

While the plant is enchanted you’ll never have to water, weed or spray for bugs! So you can enchant the plants and then ignore them other than harvesting or selling.
Pro Tip: If your sim is a fairy, you can purchase the enchant plant fairy ability and your fairy will be able to enchant plants without ever using fairy dust!

Enchanting these items is so valuable and lets your sim have so much more time to do other fun things, like working on gaining fairy abilities or playing in their fairy houses!
