The kids in The Sims 4 deserve to have this wonderful experience too, so gaining this skill is a must-have.
How to Get a Jumpstart on The Creativity Skill
One of my favourite details is that your toddler skills can actually have an impact on your child skills. If you have a child who ages up with a maxed out imagination skill you’ll actually find that when they age up they’ll be starting their child years with almost three levels of the creativity skill!
How to Gain The Sims 4 Creativity Skill
There are four big ways that a child can gain the creativity skill and all of them can create beauty! The first way is to learn to play the violin on one of the two children’s violin you can find in the buy menu. Your sims will gain both the violin and creativity skill at the same time.
The next way you can gain the creativity skill is through play. You can do this with the dollhouse and this is my favourite because they can play with toddlers, infants and adults so you can bond.
When your child reaches level 9 of the skill they can unlock the narrate a tale of dolls interaction on the dollhouse which is awesome!
The next thing your children can do to gain the creativity skill is to use the activity table to make drawings. These are so fun because you can hang these on the wall and use them as fun decorations!
The next way you can gain the skill is by learning to play piano. Your sims will actually gain the creativity and piano skill at the same time so this is awesome for the future!
Gain The Creativity Skill Faster With Mentoring
My favourite thing I did for gaining the creativity skill was having my sim’s mom who had level 10 of the piano skill mentor them on the skill. You can do this for both the violin and the piano!
When you get an adult sim to mentor the child they are going to gain both the creativity skill and the instrument skill way faster than normal so you can maximize time.
Levels of the Sims 4 Creativity Skill
There are ten total levels of the creativity skill for your sims to gain. As you gain the skill you’ll find that your sims are getting new unlocks of fun things to do.

| Level 7 | Children can now write a dollhouse story on the computer (if a dollhouse is owned) and they get more satisfaction from playing on pirate ship jungle gyms. |
| Level 8 | Children can now draw a new image on the activity table. |
| Level 9 | Children can narrate a tale of dolls on the dollhouse. |
| Level 10 | Children are now a master of creativity! |
How to Cheat The Creativity Skill
If you want your sims to be creative but don’t want to put in the effort, you have the option to just go ahead and cheat instead. The cheat you need to know is stats.set_skill_level Skill_Child_Creativity 10 to max the skill.
If you want a different level of the skill you can just change the 10 to whatever level from 1-9 you want instead.
Gaining The Violin Skill
The best way to gain the creativity skill is to play the violin because as you gain creativity you can also gain the violin skill. This skill will gain slower than creativity but working on this young can get your sim’s a leg up on life!
Gaining The Piano Skill
In addition to the violin skill your sims are able to gain the piano skill which is awesome and sounds so good. I love that with this update we can gain adult skills for children, feels more realistic than starting from 0 at teen.
Gaining Creativity With The Sims 4: Parenthood
If you have The Sims 4: Parenthood in your game, you have the option of gaining the creativity and writing skill for your children with a private journal.
These are super cute and have tons of fun covers to choose from. Your sims will write in these and it’s a great way to deal with their emotions too!
