The Sims 4 Whiz Kid Aspiration
For children the sims 4 whiz kid aspiration is the best way to gain mental skills!
This base game aspiration is great because when completed sims get the mentally gifted trait.
Mentally gifted helps them gain mental skills (like the logic skill) faster when they are older, which is amazing!
Best Traits for The Sims 4 Whiz Kid Aspiration
Unfortunately children only get one spot for traits so you don’t have the room to add a ton but there are a few that can help with this aspiration!
- Genius: In parts of this aspiration your sim needs to be focused and genius sims feel focused more often.
- Practice Makes Perfect: Sims with this trait will start off gaining skills slower but eventually get strong skill gains. They also get strong focused moodlets!
You can also add lot traits to your sim’s household to make it easier to finish aspirations:
- Child’s Play: This lot trait comes from The Sims 4: City Living and makes children gain all skills faster so you can gain the mental skill more quickly.
- Good Schools: Another trait from The Sims 4: City Living! This one makes your sims do better at homework and get better grades so you’ll be able to get to an A grade faster.
- Science Lair: The science lair trait helps sims gain skills like the logic skill faster, which your sim can gain at the same time that they gain the mental skill.
Stages of the Aspiration
There are three stages for each of the base game aspirations for kids. Each stage of the sims 4 whiz kid aspiration has tasks to complete like playing games of chess or getting an A in school. When you finish these tasks you’ll get satisfaction points to spend!
Stage One: Precocious
- Play 3 Games of Chess
The first thing your sim needs to do is play 3 games of chess. You can either choose to purchase a chess board from the skills & hobbies section of build mode or travel to a park (like the one in Willow Creek) to find a chess board.
Then you’ll click play with… and choose another sim to start a game. Do this 3 times and you’ll satisfy this requirement.
- Read with an Adult for 2 Hours
This part of the aspiration just requires your child sim to hangout and listen. You’ll want to control an adult in the household and click on a children’s book inside of a bookcase. The children’s books are white with purple accents.
You’ll click on any children’s book and choose read to child and then choose that child (and siblings at the same time if you want).
The adult sim will find a place to sit and the kids will sit near them too. They’ll all listen for a while and the reading usually lasts 1 hour. So you may need to do this twice!
Stage Two: Junior Scientist
Throughout this aspiration you’ll need to max out your child’s mental skill. There are so many ways to gain this skill for kids starting with playing chess, doing experiments on the science table, using a telescope and playing the arithmetic attack game on a computer.
- Finish Homework 2 Times While Focused
Everyday when your sim comes home from school they’ll need to do their homework. This sim wants to finish it twice while focused. So, head to a chess table and choose ponder moves to get an easy focused moodlet.
Once that moodlet appears immediately go into your sim’s inventory and click on the homework book and choose do homework. Make sure they complete it to satisfy this requirement!
You’ll need to do this twice. If your sim has a C grade in school you’ll need to wait until the next day. If they have a B or A in school you can click on the homework book again and do extra credit and that counts too!
Stage Three: Whiz Kid
- Achieve a Grade of “A” at School
The final stage of this aspiration starts with your sim needing to get an A in school. This is actually easy, but it will take some time. You’ll want to make sure that your child always goes to school, missing school really hurts their performance.
You’ll want to do your homework every single day. When you reach a B grade you can even do extra credit to get more performance boosts.
If you have The Sims 4: Parenthood you can even purchase some school projects to gain extra performance boosts too!
- Craft 3 Emotional Potions
When your child reaches level 7 of the mental skill they are going to be able to craft emotion potions on the science table. The base game version of this table is called Junior Wizard Starter Set and costs 210 simoleons.
When you have the table and level 7 of the mental skill you’ll click on it and choose emotion potion. Your sim will head to the table and start concocting it and it will appear in your sim’s inventory.
Pro Tip: Science tables can set on fire… so add a fire extinguisher to the wall right above it. Or place it outside so it can’t burn down your entire house and valuable items.
To finish off this aspiration your sim needs to reach level 10 of the mental skill. You’ll have already needed to reach level 5 in the past section so you’re already close!
To reach level 10 you can keep playing chess, using a telescope, making potions on the science table or playing arithmetic attack on the computer.
Mentally Gifted Reward Trait
When your child finishes the sims 4 whiz kid aspiration they are going to be awarded the mentally gifted reward trait. Incredible! This trait’s description says “Mentally gifted sims build adult mental skills faster.”
These traits are so helpful for your sim’s future because they’ll gain skills like logic and rocket science from the base game or random ones like the archaeology skill from Jungle Adventure way faster!
