The Sims 4 City Native Aspiration
If you want to live in the big city the sims 4 city native aspiration is a fun one!
This aspiration from The Sims 4: City Living lets you explore the entire city with ease.
Home Turf Bonus Trait
When a sim starts their life with a location aspiration like the sims 4 city native aspiration they will get the home turf bonus trait.

This trait’s description says “These sims become happy when they are in their home neighbourhood.” This means sims will get great positive moodlets whenever they’re home!
Best Traits for Sims 4 City Native Aspiration
There are certain traits that can be helpful when you’re playing through aspirations. Here’s some that can help with this one:
- Creative: Throughout this aspiration your sim needs to gain the singing skill and the best mood is inspired. Sims who are creative get inspired moodlets more often!
- Outgoing: Your sim needs to introduce themselves to different people and have a friend have an apartment key, so you’ll need to do some socializing! Outgoing sims love to be social.
- Genius: Your sim needs to WIN a competition at GeekCon which means they need either the video gaming or programming skill. Both of these have focused as their ideal mood and genius sims gets focused more often.
You can also add the fast internet lot trait to your sim’s household. Why? Well, since you have to gain either programming or video gaming for GeekCon the faster internet trait can help them gain these skills faster!
Stages of the Aspiration
There are four stages of the sims 4 city native aspiration and in each stage you’ll have tasks to complete. When your sim finishes them they’ll get satisfaction points to spend on reward traits!
Stage One: Tourist

- Introduce Self to Someone New in 3 Different City Neighbourhoods
Every world in The Sims 4 is comprised of neighbourhoods that your sims can live in and visit. For this part of the aspiration you’ll need to visit 3 of the four neighbourhoods.

Once in the neighbourhood you’ll find a sim and click on them and choose any of the introductions you have available to satisfy this requirement.

When you reach 35% friendship with another sim and you live in an apartment you can give someone else a key! You’ll see this option appear saying Give Apartment Key and doing this once will satisfy the need.

The bad part of this is that the sim can now come over whenever they want, and they will! You can revoke this key access at any time.
- Order 3 Times from Food Stalls
The next task for this aspiration is for your sim to order food from food stalls 3 times. You’ll find these food stalls in every neighbourhood in the game, and they all serve different kinds of food.

To order food you click on these stalls and choose order food and then choose what you’d like to eat. When your sim finishes eating a meal from a food stall they’ll even learn how to cook it, how fun!
Stage Two: Inhabitant

Your first task for stage two is to reach level four of the singing skill! You can gain this skill by purchasing a microphone and choosing practice singing. You can also just click on a sim and click practice singing if you don’t want to get a microphone!

When your sim gets to level two of the skill they can even choose to sing in the shower so you can gain the skill while also also getting clean.

- Light Fireworks at the Humour and Hijinks Festival
Your next task is to light fireworks at Humour and Hijinks! This is one of the many festivals that take place in San Myshuno. You can see when the festival is at any time in the household calendar by looking for the smile and jester hat image.

When the festival starts you’ll get a notification telling you so and you can click show festival info to see more about it and use that travel to button at the bottom to have the game bring you right there.

Once at the festival you can find the swag vendor where you can purchase t-shirts and click buy swag and then you can purchase fireworks from this menu.

The fireworks will appear in your sim’s inventory and you can click on them and choose place in world and light to light them and satisfy this requirement.

- Use a Bubble Blower
To satisfy this requirement you’ll need to have access to a Bubbletron 5000. This is purchasable in the build catalog for 530 simoleons! You’ll need some chairs around it too, or you can purchase them all together.

Once you have a bubble blower you can click on it and choose sit and try and have your sim use the blower. After your first try you’ll get a moodlet making your sim feel dazed, they’ll feel better after other times though.

From time to time you can find bubble blowers out in the wild. I can usually find one when there’s a flea market happening!
Stage Three: City Expert

The first thing you need to do for the third stage of the sims 4 city native aspiration is to donate to a protestor. So, from time to time you’ll see a group of sims who are gathered with signs doing a protest. This happens to my game pretty randomly, so I am unsure when it’ll happen but it happens in the middle of neighbourhoods.
When you see this happen you’ll want to click on a sim who is protesting and choose give donation to protester under friendly interactions. It’ll cost you 100 simoleons and satisfy this need.

I am still confused about what exactly Nancy Landgraab is protesting here though. She has a sign with an image of the earth with Grim’s scythe through it? Very weird, just like you’d expect from The Sims 4.
- Kiss Someone at the Romance Festival
The romance festival is one of my favourite places to get engaged because the screenshots are gorgeous since there’s flower petals all over the place. You can see when this beautiful festival is happening by opening up the household calendar at any time, you’re looking for the purple icon with a hand and flower petals.

When the festival starts you’ll get a notification letting you know and if you click show festival info a page will open showing you all the information you need. You can even click the button at the bottom that says Travel to Romance Festival and it will bring you right there.

You have two options here. If your sim is in a relationship you can travel with that person and kiss them at the festival easily and satisfy this need.
If your sim is single you can head to the festival, drink the flirty tea and start flirting with someone until you can kiss them. You need to work pretty quick though, so it can be stressful!

Your final task for this part of the sims 4 city native aspiration is to complete a mural at the arts centre. This lot is located in the top right hand corner of the screen, it’s the small building between all the apartments called Casbah Gallery.

When you get there you’re looking for a large blue rectangle on the ground or on a wall. You’ll click on this and choose to either paint a cultural or political mural. Your sim will need a lot of time to do this, so make sure they’re in a good mood and their needs are taken care of.

The murals are gorgeous. This cultural mural has flowers and fish and is just so cute. My sim is very talented! The best part is that while you’re doing this your sim will gain the painting skill!

Stage Four: City Native

- Live in an Apartment Worth 100,000 Simoleons
This part of the aspiration is going to take you a while (or just use the motherlode cheat a few times and buy a bougie apartment). You’ll need to have an apartment that’s worth 100,000 simoleons. This includes both the actual apartment and all of the things inside.

At any time you can go into build mode and go to the top left menus and you can see how much your sim’s lot is. You’ll need to keep adding furniture and decor until you reach 100,000!
For this aspiration you need to max the singing skill! You can sing anywhere, anytime by just clicking on your sim and choosing practice singing. You can also write lyrics and earn royalties with this skill, so its not a total waste of time.
Your final task for this aspiration is to win a contest at geek con! You can see when geek con is happening by opening up the household calendar and looking for the laptop with a smiley face on it.

When the event starts you’ll get a notification saying The GeekCon is in Town! and you can click on that and see all the information for the festival. You can click Travel to GeekCon at the bottom and it will bring your sim right there.

Once at the festival you can hangout for a bit until you get a notification telling you that the challenges have begun. Then you have two choices, the programming skill challenge or the video game skill challenge.

To participate in the programming skill challenge you’ll head over to a set of computers that are at the festival. You’ll click one and choose participate in Hackathon and your sim will join the contest. You’ll need to have a high level of the programming skill and it is best if your sim is focused when doing this if you want to win.

Your other option is to click on one of the gaming mats and choose Ultimate Gaming Test! This one is really fun looking cause the gaming mats are super cool. Your sim will need a high level of the video gaming skill and ideally will be feeling focused when doing this.

My sim was able to win the Hackathon with level 10 of the programming skill, so you’ll need to prepare for this definitely. When my sim did the challenge they got a score of 100/100 and were given The Immersive Bend Computer as a reward!
In The Know Reward Trait
When your sim finally finishes the sims 4 city native aspiration they are going to get the in the know reward trait.

This trait’s description reads “Sims who are in the know can get a massive discount on market stall purchase if they haggle with vendors.”
Unfortunately, this is one of the most useless reward traits to be honest, unless your sim never cooks at home lol.
