The Sims 4 The Curator Aspiration
Do you want to be a crazy collector? The Sims 4 Curator aspiration lets your sims find all the goodies!
This aspiration from The Sims 4 base game has so many fun things to find from metals to crystals to frogs.
Your sim will need to learn to breed frogs and even send items to the Geo Council!
Collector Bonus Trait
When a sim starts their life with a nature aspiration like this one or the freelance botanist aspiration they’ll be given the collector bonus trait. This trait’s description reads “Collectors can find rare collectibles more often!”

This is a perfect bonus trait for this aspiration because you’ll be able to find the rare stuff easier to help you finish a collection!
Best Traits for Sims 4 The Curator Aspiration
When you create a sim to play through this aspiration you’ll want to think about their traits. Here’s some traits that can be helpful in finishing this aspiration:
- Loves The Outdoors: Everything your sim needs to collect in this aspiration is found outside! So, your sim should definitely love being outdoors so they spend more time happy.
- Collector: This is the bonus trait you get when you start your sim’s life with a nature aspiration and it will help you find more rare collectibles.
- Loner: So much of your sims time will be spent walking alone from one artifact rock to another so they may benefit from having the loner trait so their social need doesn’t decay.
If you have The Sims 4: Seasons installed in your game you may want to purchase traits so your sims aren’t affected by weather as much since you’ll be outside so much. You can purchase things like heat and cold acclimation and waterproof for rain!
Stages of the Aspiration
There are four stages of the sims 4 the curator aspiration to play through. This aspiration actually gets more fun the more DLC you have because you’ll be able to search different worlds instead of always looking for collectibles in Willow Creek over and over!
Stage One: Out and About

- Collect 10 Collectibles
The first stage of this aspiration only has one task for your sims to complete. You just need to find 10 total collectibles which includes anything in the collectibles category including:
- Frogs
- Crystals
- Fossils
- MySims
The type of item you get depends on where you’re looking! Below you’ll see an image with three of the options for finding collectibles.

The first is a rock, there are multiple types that all give you different things. You can find fossils in the ones that have bone type designs on them and crystals in the ones that have gems coming out of them.
The second is a frog log which is where you can look for frogs to breed!
Finally, there’s a dig spot where you can find all sorts of weird goodies including capsules where you find MySims and you can even get random items like upgrade parts in these spots. Those upgrade parts are nice if you want to work on upgrading items with the handiness skill.
Stage Two: Gatherer

- Collect 5 Crystals
The second stage of this aspiration changes it from just finding collectibles to finding specific categories. The first thing your sim needs to do is collect 5 crystals.
These crystals are found in rocks that look like they have crystals coming out of them like the one in the image below.

You’ll want to click on these rocks and choose dig and the sim will get a crystal in their inventory!
- Collect 3 Frogs
Your next task is to collect 3 frogs which you can do by finding frog logs and clicking on them and choosing look for frogs. Your sim will end up with a frog in their inventory and you’ll get a notification telling you so.

You’ll be able to breed these frogs to get even more frogs!
- Collect 3 Fossils
The next thing you need to do is collect fossils which are found in rocks that look like they have bones and stuff coming off of them. When you dig these you’ll get a notification that ends in “It should have a fossil inside.”

Just digging the rock won’t satisfy the need, you’ll need to actually extract the fossil. To do this you’ll click on the rock in your inventory and choose extract fossil and that will satisfy the requirement for this aspiration.

Stage Three: Treasure Hunter

- Send 5 Items to the Geological Council
There are certain items you can send to the Geological Council for elemental isolation which is how you start an element collection. You’ll need to send 5 crystals to the geo council to satisfy this requirement.
To do this, go to your sim’s inventory and click on a crystal and choose send to geo council. You’ll get a notification saying that you’ll get your isolated elements in the mail in the next day or so!

Just sending the items will satisfy this requirement, so you don’t need to wait for this task to be done!
- Breed 5 Frogs
Breeding frogs is a really easy way to make a bit of money because you can breed them and sell them for money in your inventory. To start doing this your sim will need to have at least two frogs in their inventory.
To do this you can click on a frog in your sim’s inventory and choose breed frog with and a menu will appear showing the other frogs in your inventory that you can choose to breed with. When you choose one you’ll get a notification saying your sim has bred a new frog.

Breeding is the best way to finish the frog collection because you can create frogs that are harder to find by just breeding them instead. Here’s some combinations you can make with breeding:
- Dirt Drog + Surf Frog = Dirtsurfer Frog
- Leaf Frog + Striped Frog = Striped Leaf Frog
- Sunflower Frog + Striped Frog = Tiger Frog
Breeding two frogs of the same type will just give you another of that same frog breed.
- Collect 5 Elements
Since you’ve already sent 5 crystals to the geological council you’re already on your way to collecting 5 elements. These aren’t something you can just find (unless you’re lucky) so you need to send crystals to the geo council and wait until they appear in your mailbox to get these!

So, to do this, send your items to the geo council and wait for your mail to satisfy this requirement for the sims 4 curator aspiration.
Stage Four: The Curator

- Complete a Collection
This requirement makes this aspiration one of the hardest out there, seriously! Completing a collection takes so long because there are so many rare items to find.
To check your collections at any time you can go into your sim’s inventory and click on the little gem icon and choose Household Collections.

This will open up a menu where you can see what items you’ve collected in each category to see how far away you are from collecting everything.

You just need to pick one type of collection to complete, I find the easiest one to complete to be frogs because you can breed different types instead of having to find each individual item like you would with fossils.
Note: The more packs you have… the harder it is to finish a lot of collections!
- Collect 25 Collectibles
For this requirement you just need to collect 25 collectibles of any type. Most collections have more than 10, so completing a collection will help with this. You’ll honestly be able to finish this part way before you ever finish a collection!
Appraiser Reward Trait
When you manage to have a sim who can finish the sims 4 the curator aspiration they are going to be given the appraiser reward trait. This trait’s description reads “Appraisers can sell collectibles like Metals, Crystals, Elements, and Fossils to the Simsonian museum for extra money.”

This is a fun one because you can send all sorts of your collectibles that you’ve gotten up until this point and you’ll get more money than if you just sold it through your inventory.

To do these you just click on the item and choose sell to the Simsonian Museum and you’ll get a notification thanking you and telling you how much money they paid.
