The Sims 4 Archaeology Scholar Aspiration
If you want to discover the secrets of the past you should play through the sims 4 archaeology scholar aspiration.
This comes to your game with The Sims 4: Jungle Adventure and is super fun.
Your sim will be creating dig sites, authenticating artifacts and more!
Quick Learner Bonus Trait
When you start a sim off with a knowledge aspiration they’re going to be given the quick learner bonus trait.

This is a great bonus trait because it gives skill gains to every skill, even archaeology!
Best Traits for The Archaeology Scholar Aspiration
If you want to finish this aspiration easier you’ll want to think about the types of traits your sim has. Here’s some good traits for finishing this aspiration:
- Loves the Outdoors: Most of this aspiration is done outdoors while you’re digging and excavating so you want your sim to enjoy being outside!
- Genius: The ideal mood for gaining the archaeology skill is focused and genius sims get focused moodlets more often.
- Practice Makes Perfect: This trait makes your sims start gaining skills slowly but eventually gives skill gains, plus it gives a bunch of strong focused moodlets.
Stages of the Aspiration
There are four stages of this aspiration for you and your sim to work through. Each stage has tasks from surveying dig piles to authenticating artifacts!
This entire aspiration will require your sim to take a vacation to Selvadorada and use a machete to travel through the brush to actually go into the jungle!
Stage One: Trowel Technician

- Excavate 3 Dig Piles or Excavation Sites
When you visit Selvadorada you’ll want to find the large entrance to the jungle that you’ll need to clear. Once through you’ll start seeing little piles of dirt and other items once in a while, these are dig piles!
To excavate these dig piles you’ll want to click on them and choose excavate and your sim will start digging through them and you’ll get artifacts in your inventory.

At level four of the archaeology skill your sim will be able to click anywhere on the ground to survey for dig pile to uncover these so you have access to more of them.
You just need to find 3 of these piles and excavate from them to complete this part of the aspiration.
When you excavate these piles you’ll often get an artifact-shaped dirt clump in your sim’s inventory. You’ll need to uncover these items by clicking on the Pop Up Archaeology Work Bench and choosing uncover artifact.

When you do this a menu will open showing all the dirt clumps you have and you can click whichever one you want to satisfy this requirement. The uncovered artifact will appear on the table and you’ll be then allowed to authenticate it.

Stage Two: Research Associate

For this stage of the aspiration your sim will need to gain the archaeology skill. Your sim will gain this skill whenever they are excavating dig sites, uncovering dirt clumps and authenticating artifacts.
Another way your sim can gain this skill is by purchasing and reading the archaeology skill books! You can even add the peace and quiet lot trait so your sim can earn skills faster by reading.

When your sim reaches level four of the archaeology skill they’ll unlock the ability to survey for dig pile. You can do this on the ground anywhere in Selvadorada.

You just click on the ground and choose to survey for dig pile, however, there is a chance of failure so you won’t always get a pile to excavate.
Once you have an artifact in your sim’s inventory you’ll want to authenticate it so you know if its real.

You can do this by dragging the item onto the archaeology table and choosing to authenticate artifact. You can also click on the table when its empty and choose to authenticate and pick the item from the menu.
Stage Three: Excavation Expert

The next task for the sims 4 archaeology scholar aspiration is to reach level 7 of the archaeology skill. This is great because you’ll want a high level of the skill so you can get better quality artifacts!
Just keep excavating dig sites, authenticating the artifacts you find or reading those skill books!
When your sim reaches level 6 of the archaeology skill you unlock the ability to establish excavation sites when you click on the same dirt piles you were excavating before.

This is incredible because it turns it into a dig site which lets you find more than one artifact (usually like 5) instead of the one you can find by excavating a regular dig site.
- Find and Authenticate 5 Excellent Quality Artifacts
Most things your sim can find or make have a quality ranking and that applies to artifacts too! When you hover over artifacts you’ve uncovered and authenticated you’ll see a quality and rarity rating. You’re trying to get excellent quality artifacts.

There are a few things your sim can do to increase their ability to find higher quality artifacts including being focused when digging and having a high level of the archaeology skill.
Stage Four: Archaeology Scholar

To finish this aspiration your sim will need to reach level 10 of the archaeology skill. You can keep gaining the skill through excavating (ideally on excavation sites, not dig sites) or reading skill books!
You can also cheat the skill by using stats.set_skill_level Major_Archaeology 10 to max it.
Once your sim reaches level 8 of the archaeology skill they are going to be able to write a guidebook to archaeology. This is available on a computer under write > write skill book.

To satisfy this requirement your sim will need to make one that is of good quality or higher, so normal won’t satisfy it. You can increase the quality by getting your sim a higher level of the writing skill and making sure they are in a good mood when writing it!
- Give a Successful Archaeology Lecture
When your sim maxes out the skill they are going to unlock the ability to give an archaeology lecture to sims. You can find this by clicking give archaeology lecture and choosing the sims around who you want to give it to.

This needs to be a successful lecture, meaning other sims need to enjoy it! To make sure that happens you should make sure your sim is in a good mood, a sim who is angry or sad or tense won’t give a good lecture.
Museum Patron Reward Trait
When your sim manages to finish the sims 4 archaeology scholar aspiration they’ll get the museum patron reward trait.

This trait’s description says “These sims are lovers of all things ancient. They will be especially confident at museums, and even more flirty while on dates there. They also have the unique ability to donate artifacts to the Simsonian Museum.”

When your sim donates something to the museum they won’t get money, but they will get a +3 Happy moodlet that lasts 24 hours which is awesome!
