The first thing you need to do to achieve “ex” status is to get into a relationship. You do this by clicking the ask to be romantic partners option when it appears in your sim’s social menu.
This option appears at around 40% romance! If you don’t see it in the initial menu you can find it under relationship.
To become exes with that sim you just need to break up! To make the break up option appear in the initial menu you can do some mean interactions with the sim.
However, you can find the option to break up under relationship at any point. So you don’t even need to be mean.
Clicking break up with immediately make your sim become that sim’s ex and will satisfy the need of the villainous valentine aspiration!
