You don’t want your sims to break up, so you need to have this vital information!

What is The Sweater Curse?

In the real world the sweater curse is a superstition that if you gift a hand knit or crochet sweater to a significant other the relationship is doomed to fail. So, of course, EA brought that to the game with The Sims 4: Nifty Knitting.

When a sim gifts their romantic partner a hand knit sweater they are both going to get a +2 scared moodlet that lasts 7 days. For the entirety of the moodlets’ length your sims cannot do any romantic interactions with one another or they’ll LOSE RELATIONSHIP POINTS!

Note: This doesn’t work for sims who are already married!

How to Reverse The Sweater Curse in The Sims 4

Thankfully, we have a way to reverse the curse! This requires you to have another sim in the household who has fully completed the lord or lady of the knits aspiration and has gained the sacred knitting knowledge reward trait.

This reward trait gives tons of random fun bonuses but this is the best one. Any sim with this trait is immune to this curse and can also save other couples from it.

Once a sim has that +2 scared moodlet, the sim with this trait can click on them and choose reverse the sweater curse and it will remove the moodlet from both sims and save their relationship!
