How to Get a Movie Acting Gig
To get your sim a movie acting gig you’ll need to have reached the Seasoned Thespian level of the acting career. Before that point you’ll have access to both commercial and TV Show acting gigs.
In order to get the gig you’ll need to do an audition first. The movie level auditions will have a payout between §3,000 and §7,000 and a recommended skill level of 7.
Once you choose an audition for your sim you’ll see the career panel change. On this panel you’ll see all the info you need to get prepared including the recommended skill (for this one, fitness skill level 7) and the time your audition starts.
A really important thing is noting the ideal mood. You should send a sim to an audition feeling confident.
The easiest way to get confident is to head to the bathroom. Get your sim to brush their teeth at a sink and psych themselves up at a mirror. This gives enough confidence to get them through the audition.
Your sim will leave the house and go into a rabbit hole for the audition and you’ll hopefully get a notification that your sim has succeeded.

Now that you have a gig scheduled you’ll see your career panel change again. This will now have the timing for your sim’s gig as well as all the prep tasks you should complete.
Preparing For Your Movie Acting Gig
Some tasks you’ll see include developing your skills, researching emotions and developing relationships with your co-star. Developing skills is easy, if you get the charisma skill you’ll just want to practice a speech in the mirror until the need is satisfied.
If you get a research emotion option you’ll need to get your sim into that emotion. Angry is the worst one if you have a generally happy sim. I had to get my sim’s spouse to cheat on them to make them angry and then fix the marriage later. Once your sim is in the emotion you’ll need to do some angry interactions to satisfy this need.
If you get the develop friendship with co-star you can click on the button beside your gig to invite over your coworkers and they’ll come to your house and you can just do friendly interactions to grow a friendship.
Attending Your Movie Acting Gig in The Sims 4
Once you complete all of your tasks you’ll be ready to head to work. You’ll get a question box asking if you want to join them or send them alone but you must join them to earn gold.
Once you head to work with them you’ll see a box in the top left corner filled with tasks to complete. These are must-dos to get gold because each task will fill your progress bar slightly.
If you get a task to rehearse a scene with a co-star you’ll need to find them. They are usually standing in front of this random microphone but you can hover over the sims to see co-star in red text. You can click on them and choose rehearse scene to satisfy this.
There are some super easy tasks to complete too. If you get eat food you’ll just need to get your sim to grab a plate from the area toward the entrance of the building and eat a few bites.
Getting into costumes and hair and make up is easy too. Head to the left side of the building and interact with the chair for make up and the platform for costumes.
You may also need to get notes from a director. You’ll always find the director sitting on or standing near the directors chair in the center of the room. You can click on them and choose get notes from director.
Once you’ve completed every task you’ll go to your director and tell them you are ready to perform. This is when the attention turns toward the stage and you get to act!
Once you get to start acting you’ll see little X marks on the ground. These will light up in a sequence and you click on them and choose between risky or safe. What’s the difference?
Well, if you completed the tasks before you came to work, choose risky. If you didn’t, choose safe depending on what you finished. For example, in the image below the shout forbidden words scene will succeed if you researched the angry emotion.
If you do risky and didn’t prepare properly you may see no improvement in your progress bar so you might not get gold! That’s why preparation is so important.
Once you do all the acting interactions you’ll wait a few minutes in game and then you’ll get a YOUR SIM GOT GOLD notification if you succeeded.
