How to Get an Acting Gig
The first step to getting gold is actually getting the gig. You’ll find the option to look for auditions in the career panel or on your sim’s phone in the business section. When you do this the select audition screen will appear.
You’ll choose an audition for a commercial and you can tell its a commercial audition based on the payout. Commercials pay range goes up to around ยง500 and requires 2 levels of a relevant skill for your sim to get the gig.
Choose one of these auditions and you’ll see a change in your work panel. You’ll see that you need to gain at least 2 levels of whatever skill you chose (more is always better though). Also, you’ll see that the ideal mood for going to an audition is confident which will help you sim pass the audition.
When an audition is passed you’ll see a notification from your agency who will say something weird, usually.
At this time your career panel will change to tell you all the things you need to know about the actual gig.
How to Earn Gold in Commercial Acting Gig in The Sims 4
Now that you have the gig you need to fully prepare so your sim has a higher chance at getting gold. You’ll see on this menu that there are prep tasks these include things like getting your necessary skills higher.
For example, to develop your fitness skill you just need to get a sim to exercise until it goes to complete. You’ll see a percentage tracker that goes up in 25% increments to show you how much more you need to do. If you have the charisma skill option, get a sim to practice speeches in the mirror.
You can see in your career panel the date and time of your gig, this sim had their gig at 12:00 on Thursday. At that time you’ll get a question box asking if you want to join or send alone.
You must join them. Sending them alone will not get them gold!
When you join a sim at their active career you’ll go to the lot and see a menu in the top left corner of the screen that will give you tasks to complete. The tasks are all super easy like the first one being practice acting, you just go into the small bathrooms by the entrance and practice acting until this is satisfied.
You want to do every task before starting the performance because each of these tasks fills up the bar that brings you closer to gold.
Some other tasks you’ll need to do is get into hair and makeup which you can find on the left side of the building. Once you get every task done you’ll see an option to tell the director you’re ready to perform.
The director is always sitting on or standing near the directors chair in the middle of the building on top of a rug. You can hover over them to see their info and it will say Director. You’ll click on them to tell them you’re ready and now it’s time to act.
You then turn your attention to the stage. You’ll see these little X spots on the floor and you click on them as they light up. You can choose between safe and risky tasks. What does this mean? Well, successfully completing the risky tasks will fill your progress bar further.
However, if you don’t have enough of the skill that is corresponding with the task, you’ll have a chance at doing poorly and not getting enough of the bar filled. That’s why you need to make sure you get the recommended skills before you start your active work day.
I always make sure my sims have even higher than necessary skills and do all of the risky options. I want to get gold because it pays more and gives more fame than getting silver, so it’s a good thing to strive for.
If you succeed you’ll get this notification telling you that you got gold and you can go home or hangout on the lot if you want to chat with others.
