The Sims 4 Championship Rider Aspiration

If you want a super talented horse your sim should work through the sims 4 championship rider aspiration.

This awesome aspiration comes to your game with The Sims 4: Horse Ranch.

High Metabolism Bonus Trait

When you start your sim off with an athletic aspiration your sim will get the high metabolism reward trait. This trait helps your sim stay more fit, which is nice in general but it has no impact on them for this aspiration.

Ideal Traits for The Sims 4 Championship Rider Aspiration

When you’re choosing an aspiration to play through you should definitely pick traits that are correlating well with that. Here’s some traits that can help with this aspiration:

  • Loves The Outdoors: Pretty much everything you do in this aspiration requires you to spend time outside training horses, so having your sim enjoy being outdoors is important.
  • Self-Assured: The ideal mood for gaining the horse riding skill for your sims is confident. Sims who are self-assured will get confident moodlets randomly.
  • Horse Lover: A horse lover sim will gain relationships with horses faster and has an easier time caring for horses.

You also need to pick horses that have traits that will be helpful in winning competitions:

  • Intelligent: Intelligent horses will gain their skills more quickly!
  • Energetic: An energetic horse has more energy to burn and can train for longer.

Pro Tip: If you have a horse who has gotten the champion horse trait from winning competitions you should breed them! Their children get a reward trait that helps them gain skills faster!

Stage of the Aspirations

The sims 4 championship rider aspiration only has one stage for your sims to gain, which is interesting. That doesn’t mean it’s easy though! You’ll still need to do tons of things to be able to win these horse competitions.

The first thing you need to do for this aspiration is max out your horse riding skill. This skill is gained any time a sim is on horseback. You can gain this skill by going on simple rides, doing barrels and doing jumps.

The higher your sim’s skill, the better they will perform in all the competitions that are required for this aspiration.

  • Compete in 15 Horse Competitions

This requirement is easy because it’s not about placing or getting into harder competitions. You just need to do 15 horse competitions in any category. Since you can only do one horse competition per day, per horse, you may want to have more than one horse that your sim is training.

To enter a competition you’ll to travel with your sim and your horse to any lot near the Hey Now! Equestrian Centre that’s located in the middle of the world. Then click on the building and choose enter competition.

Once you click on this you’ll see a menu where you can choose from the different competitions and choose the sim and the horse you want to have participate. At the beginning you’ll only be able to do beginner competitions but once you do one you’ll unlock the next level.

  • Win Gold in 5 Master Horse Competitions

For each type of competition there are four levels: beginner, intermediate, expert, and master. You are only able to participate in one if you’ve done the one before. So, to be able to enter a master competition your sim will need to have entered the other three too.

The master horse competitions cost §1,000 to enter. Your sim will need to have the correct level of skills to join these competitions which I’ve listed later in this guide.

To get your sims to have a good chance in winning gold you need to make sure that your horse have the right skill levels. You should also make sure that your sim and the horse have a good relationship and are both in a good mood with high needs before heading into the competition.

  • Place at the Ultimate Horse Championship

To be able to do the Ultimate Horse Championship your horse has to have competed in all the masters competitions. This means you’ve had to do 16 competitions which will take 16 days because of the cooldown length. So, here’s a mod to remove that cooldown if you’d rather get it done more quickly.

Note: This competition only happens on SATURDAY.

All you need to do is get a medal in this competition. Since you’ve worked your way through the other competitions you’ll have already worked up your sim’s skill and your horse’s skills. You’ll want every skill for your horses to be at level 10 and your sim’s horse riding skill at level 10 as well.

Make sure that your sim is feeling confident when they leave the house on competition day. Get them to brush their teeth and Psych themselves up in the mirror to do that! And, make sure that your horse’s needs are all taken care of.

How to Win Horse Competitions

There are five types of horse competitions your horses can participate in. Each type of competition has different skill requirements that will help you get a gold medal. When you enter these competitions make sure that your sim and horse are both in good moods before you leave the house.

The key is making sure that your sim and your horse have the right skills. Your sim needs to have high levels of the horse riding skill to do well in these competitions.

Your horses are going to need to have high levels in two different skills for every competition. However, the Ultimate Horse Championship requires your horse to be level 10 of every skill.

Barrel Racing

The two skills that are required for competing in barrel racing competitions are the agility skill and the endurance skill. When you go to choose the race you’ll see a skill level recommendation for each skill your horse and sim need. Here’s what your horse needs to do well in barrel racing.

Race LevelAgility SkillEndurance Skill
Beginner §10032
Intermediate §25053
Expert §50074
Master §1,00095

Your sim doesn’t need to have the required level they are able to join without it. However, your chances of winning are way higher if they have it.

To gain the agility skill you’ll want to do barrels with your horse when they’re in a good mood. To gain the endurance skill for your horse you’ll want to go on long rides like an energetic ride!

Show Jumping

The two skills that you’ll need to have for show jumping are the temperament skill and the jumping skill. Temperament is a great skill to have in general because it makes your horses just be better behaved in general.

Race LevelJumping SkillTemperament Skill
Beginner §10032
Intermediate §25053
Expert §50074
Master §1,00095

To gain the temperament skill your sim just needs to do nice social interactions with your horse. Literally anything from telling jokes to chatting.

To gain the jumping skill your sim needs to do horse jumps on either of the jumping bars.

Endurance Racing

If you want a horse to get into endurance racing you’ll need them to have the endurance skill and the jumping skill. The level of the skill they need is different based on what level of competition your horse is in.

Race LevelEndurance SkillJumping Skill
Beginner §10032
Intermediate §25053
Expert §50074
Master §1,00095

You can gain the endurance skill by going on rides with your horse, from energetic rides to relaxed rides. Gaining the jumping skill is done by getting horses to use the jumping bars!

Western Pleasure

The western pleasure competition requires your horses to gain the agility skill and the temperament skill. Temperament is gained by doing social interactions with your horse or sending them to classes.

Race LevelTemperament SkillAgility Skill
Beginner §10032
Intermediate §25053
Expert §50074
Master §1,00095

To gain the agility skill you want your horses to practice on the barrels that you can purchase or find behind the Equestrian Centre.

Ultimate Horse Championship

The Ultimate Horse Championship is only available after your sim has placed in all four master level competitions. To do well in this competition both your sim’s horse riding skill and all of your horse’s skills need to be at level 10!

Grand Champ Trainer Reward Trait

When a sim manages to finish the sims 4 championship rider aspiration they will get the grand champ trainer reward trait. This trait’s description reads “These sims train horse skills faster, sell horses for higher prices, inspired confidence in themselves and their horse when riding and training, and will very rarely have a bad time riding a horse. In fact, they are so good with horses that horses have even more fun when being ridden by them. They can also give competition advice to aspiring horse riders.”
