Being able to use cheats in a game changes everything with these sims 4 cheats let you do everything from cheating their needs to making them smarter with skills.
Note: Every cheat on this list has been play-tested as of January 2026. A lot of other guides have cheats that no longer work due to random game updates so I made sure to test them myself before adding them to this list.
How to Enable Cheats
The first thing you need to know is how to use these sims 4 cheats. First, you need to know how to open the cheat box which changes depending on where you play:
- PC: Ctrl + Shift + C
- Mac: Command + Shift + C
- Console: All Four Triggers
For many of these cheats you’ll need to enable cheats so you’ll want to type in testingcheats true and hit enter and the game will let you know that cheats are enabled and then you can uses any of the cheat codes you find below.
Some cheats may require you to get a sim’s sim ID, which is a string of numbers that apply a cheat to a specific sim. You can do this by typing in sims.get_sim_id_by_name {First Name} {Last Name} and hitting enter. This works for animals like cats, dogs and horses as well.
Money Cheats
There are four main money cheats to use that will give your sims a specified amount or let you choose a specific number to have.

There are some major build cheats that you should know that let you get free real estate, move objects however you want and unlock items.

Shift Click Cheats
After you have cheats enabled there are things you can shift click on to have a bunch of easy to use cheat options. These are easy to use and super accessible. If you’re on a console you can shift click in the following way:
- Playstation: Hold down O and press X
- Xbox: Hold down B and press A
There are a few places you can shift click with the first being on sims. If you click on a sim you’ll see options like:
- Cheating a Sim’s Needs
- Give Bucks to Get Bits & Pieces (Eco Lifestyle)
- Reset Object to Reset the Sim
- Pack Cheats for Specific Packs
If you shift click on the mailbox you can do things like:
- Alter Needs for the Household or World
- Schedule Burglar Visits
- Give Sim Influence Points (Eco Lifestyle)
- Instant Enact NAPs (Eco Lifestyle)
You can also shift click on plumbing objects to make them clean or make them dirty and shift click on the ground to teleport.
Aspiration Cheats
If you want to skip part of an aspiration and get the satisfaction points you can use the following cheat code:
- aspirations.complete_current_milestone
You can also use the satisfaction points cheat to be able to give your sim points to purchase items from the reward store! You just change the X at the end for whatever level of the skill you want your sim to have.
- sims.give_satisfaction_points X
Needs Cheats
There are two ways you can fill a sim’s needs with the first way using specific cheats that apply specifically to one need. You’ll see those in the chart below.

The second way you can cheat these is to have cheats enabled and do a shift click on the mailbox and choose alter needs and choose from the options. You’ll be able to:
- Fill Needs (Household): Fills justt your active household’s needs
- Fill Needs (World): Fills needs for everyone in the world
- Disable Household Needs Decay: Stops your household’s needs from decaying at all
- Disable World Needs Decay: Stops every sim’s needs from decaying
- Enable Needs: Makes needs decay again
You can also hold down shift and click on individual sims and choose cheat need to make them happy or disable need decay for one sim which is helpful for infants and toddlers.
Skill Cheats
There are so many skills in the game to earn and the cheats below will let you give your sims those skills. The cheats below will max out the skill for your sim but you can give them any level of the skill lower than the number in the below cheat.

Create-a-Sim Cheats
There are a few create a sim cheats you can use with the first one being full edit mode that lets you go in and do any changes to a sim including their traits and their body shape. You’ll use the following cheat code:
- cas.fulleditmode
Another create-a-sim cheat you might want to use is the cas clock speed cheat which can slow down or freeze a sim’s movements while in CAS. The cheat has an X at the end where you’ll put a number between 1 and 0. 0 will freeze your sim entirely and 1 is the normal speed, so 0.5 will cut the speed in half.
- casclockspeed X
The final cheat for CAS is to unlock items that are locked in create-a-sim. This works per pack where you’ll need to put a pack abbreviation at the end (i.e., EP01 for Get to Work) there’s an X where you’d need to place this abbreviation.
- cas.unlockbytag X
Relationship Cheats
There are three types of relationship cheats for the game, friendship, romance and pet cheats. For all of these cheats you’ll replace Sim A and Sim B with names of the sims whose relationships you want to change. The first is the friendship cheat where you’ll use the following cheat:
- ModifyRelationship {Sim A} {Sim B} Amount LTR_Friendship_Main
The second of these cheats is for romance which is:
- ModifyRelationship {Sim A} {Sim B} Amount LTR_Romance_Main
The final cheat is for a pet to sim relationship. This works for cats, dogs and horses but not for any of the Cottage Living animals.

Discover University Cheats
The whole point of this pack is to get a degree and you can cheat that onto your sim. There are four versions of the cheats because there are four types of degrees you can get:
- Standard Degrees: A regular degree but at the worse school (i.e., Art History at Foxbury)
