How to Care for Fairies in The Sims 4
Fairies are just like sims, they have needs! But you’ll need to know how to care for fairies in The Sims 4 because they’re special.
This occult comes to your game with The Sims 4: Enchanted by Nature and they have so many cute animations to care for their needs.
How to Care for Fairies in The Sims 4
Fairies have a lot of the same needs as regular sims except they have an emotional force need that replaces both their bladder and hunger need which changes things up a little bit for them.
Caring for a Fairy’s Hygiene Need
For the hygiene need your are able to have your sims take a shower or a bath just like regular sims. Nice! However, there are two fun ways you can care for the fairy’s hygiene need that is way more fun.
The first way is with a fairy house where you can click on it and choose to take a bath. This has a super cute animation where your fairy gets small and goes inside and there are bubbles floating around.

The other way you can have a fairy fill their hygiene need is by having them cleanse in nature. This is an option for a plant that is fully grown to maturity. Your sim will float and fly around the plant as a tiny fairy and it’s a really cute animation.

Caring for a Fairy’s Energy Need
For energy your fairy still needs to sleep, and you can do this in regular beds but that’s no fun. There are two fun places where a fairy can sleep instead. The first is by clicking on a dollhouse and choosing shrink and sleep and the fairy will get small and cuddle up in the play house.

The other option you have is to click on the fairy house and choose the sleep option. Your fairy will shrink down and go inside and you’ll see the Z animations like when a sim is sleeping in a bed.

Caring for a Fairy’s Fun Need
There are so many cute ways your fairy can increase their fun need. Of course they can do regular things like playing instruments or watching TV but the fairy interactions are so much more fun. The first thing you can do is click on sinks and choose to splash in water. It’s so adorable, the sim will shrink down and stomp around in the sink.

Another thing your sim can do is shrink and play. You can do this on all sorts of items from fridges to stoves to garbage cans to toy boxes. When you use this interaction on fridges and counters you can have your sim get a notification saying they found something on their adventures which makes it so your sim can get random fruits and vegetables.

If you have your sim shrink and play on a couch you can get a notification saying that while on their tiny adventure the sim found simoleons! What a weird way to make money, I love it.

Another way you can increase your sim’s fun need is by using a fairy house and throwing a fairy dance party. You can do these alone or have other fairies join, the animations are so much fun with music notes and lights looking so precious.

Caring for a Fairy’s Social Need
Your fairy can gain their social need like all other sims by chatting and hangout out with others. However, if you throw a fairy dance party and have other fairies join the sim can gain the social need at the same time as the fun need!
Caring for a Fairy’s Emotional Force Need
The biggest need change for fairies is emotional force which replaces your fairy’s bladder and hunger need and is tied to any fairy magic they do. You’ll want to pay attention to your sim’s amount of emotional force because too much can cause death by emotional overload and too little can cause death by emotional starvation.
Any time that your sim uses a fairy ability they will use a specific amount of emotion force. When you go to the fairy abilities tree you can hover over each item and see how much emotional force is used. For example, turning a sim into a fairy has a very high usage but manifesting a seed is low.
If your sim has low emotional force there are ways you get regenerate it! The first way is by clicking on a fairy house and choosing regenerate emotional force.

Another way is by clicking on another sim and choosing absorb emotion but doing this too many times can lead to a death by emotional overload. Your sim will take the emotion of the other sim and leave them feeling fine, which can be useful for removing negative emotions from other sims.

You can also click on your fairy and go into the fairy menu and choose regenerate emotional force. However, this costs 5 fairy dust which can be hard to get.

You can also have your sim purchase some of the customization passive abilities in the fairy tree. These let you choose things like regenerating emotional force when sleeping or when doing mischief interactions.
