There are a few different areas you must pay attention to if you want your llamas to be happy and well cared for. The categories are their attention, their hunger and their hygiene.

Paying attention to these things will increase their overall happiness. You can hover over your llama at any point and see how they are doing!

Keeping Them Fed

The first category we’ll discuss is keeping them fed and making sure they are never hungry. There are two ways you can go about this, the first way is to click on their animal house and refill their feed.

This costs 10 simoleons and you’ll need to do it every few days. The way this works is that every time your llama goes into their house, their hunger need will go up. If they are hungry you can click on them and send them into their home and they’ll eat before coming back out.

If you get your hands on livestock upgrade parts through running errands for sims you can install an auto-feeder on the animal house so you’ll stop needing to refill the feed at all!

The other option you have is to click on the llama and choose to feed them by hand for a few simoleons. This is nice because it helps to build a relationship with your llama and feels more adorable!

Keeping Them Socialized

A well socialized llama is a happy llama! You can see how they’re doing when you hover over them with the attention category. When you haven’t paid attention to your llama in days this can go down and they may even want to leave.

All you need to do for this is make sure you’re doing positive social interactions with your llamas every day. There will always be one in the initial menu when you click on the llama but you can find more options under the social menu.

You also have the option to feed a llama an animal party treat to fill up their attention need.

Keeping Them Clean

Hygiene is the final factor to keeping your llama happy and there are two ways you can help to keep your llama clean. The first way is keeping the animal house clean by clicking on it and choosing to clean it.

How to Make Llamas Live Longer

Getting Wool From Llamas

Each day you are able to click on your llama and choose to shear their wool and you’ll get wool in your sim’s inventory. This can be used in cross-stitch projects or you can sell it for simoleons as an easy way to make an income!

The quality of the wool you get is impacted by your llama’s happiness, so keeping them well cared for is how you can get excellent quality product from your animals.

Getting Colourful Wool

If you want cooler wool, you can change the colour of your llama temporarily and then shear them. This is done by feed them animal treats that you can get in the following ways:

  • Buying them from the garden stall
  • Trading livestock for animal treats
  • Finishing errands for sims in the world

Once you’ve fed a specific animal treat to an animal for the first time your sim will learn the recipe and you can actually create them on the fridge if you have the right ingredients.

The colour of wool you get changes depending on what kind of treat you give your animal. Here’s a list of the treats and their results:
