How to Get a Golden Chicken in The Sims 4
If you want to have the coolest chicken in the coop you need to get a sims 4 golden chicken!
These chickens come with The Sims 4: Cottage Living and lay golden eggs and can even help you sim!
How to Get a Golden Chicken in The Sims 4
There are two ways you can get a golden chicken either by hatching a golden egg or by feeding a chicken you already have a golden treat!
Hatching a Golden Egg
When you have a chicken coop and take great care of your hens and roosters you’ll get a golden egg from time to time. These are awesome because they’re worth more than regular eggs.
If you have at least one rooster in the chicken coop you can sometimes get hatchable eggs that you can turn into new chickens without having to buy them.
You can increase the change of getting a hatchable egg by feeding a flirty animal treat to a rooster!
So, you’ll first need to care for your chickens to make sure they are super happy and then you’ll get a hatchable golden egg. When you do you can drag that egg into the center of the chicken coop and it will start a countdown until it hatches.
You’ll get a notification when it hatches that says “A golden egg has hatched a special kind of chick. They may not look like it yet, but with time they’ll manifest golden powers. Your sim should keep an eye on this one as amazing things are bound to happen.”
You’ll need to wait a few days before it ages up from a chick to a fully grown chicken, but it’s worth it.
Feeding a Chicken a Golden Treat
The second option you have is feeding a chicken you already have (ideally a hen, so you can get eggs) a Golden animal treat. These treats are initially obtained through gameplay, so you can do things like:
- Buying Treats from Garden Stall in Finchwick
- Completing Errands for Sims
- Befriending Birds and Rabbits for Gifts
- Trading Livestock for Animal Treats
Once you get your first golden treat you can feed it to a chicken and they will turn into a golden chicken!
After you’ve fed your first golden treat you can click on the fridge and choose create animal treats and you’ll be able to create this item as long as you have the following ingredients:
- Golden Egg
- Cowberry Jam or Honey
Golden eggs are hatched from happy hens who are well taken care of. Cowberry Jam can be purchased in Finchwick from either the Garden Stall or Grocery Stall.
What’s So Cool About Golden Chickens?
The best part about golden chickens is that they will give you more golden eggs than regular hens. Golden eggs are worth so much more than regular eggs so if you’re selling them it’s a huge difference.
However, that’s not even the best part. You can click on a golden chicken and choose Ask for Golden Chicken Help and you’ll get a notification that says “Golden Hen is a Golden Chicken with golden pulse powers! They’ll use their powers to help you out. If they see anything that can be improved in quality, they’ll try to use this power to improve the quality of the item.”
You will need to be friends with the chicken to make this happen, so do some social interactions to get there.
With this you’ll want to place some plants in the area where the chickens can hangout. I planted some flower plants and the chickens were able to improve their quality from normal to perfect in one go.
