All of the Sims 4 Death Types You Can Experience

If you play the game enough your sims will die in weird ways because there are so many sims 4 death types.

As of writing this there are over 30 ways for your sims to die and each of them is hilarious and unique.

Base Game Deaths

There are eleven different deaths just in the base game of The Sims 4. That’s wild, and they are all super fun and classic to the game.

Death by Anger

This is one of the emotional deaths you can experience. If you stack enough angry moodlets to get your sim enraged they can die from anger!

Death by Cowplant

The cow plant is an iconic creature in the game but if a sim eats their cake too many times their life will come to an abrupt end.

Death by Drowning

One of the classic deaths in The Sims, death by drowning requires sims to be left in a pool for too long where they either fall asleep or get too hungry to survive it.

Death by Electrocution

Fixing electronics can be hard and cause sims to become dazed. Keep trying to fix things while dazed and your sim risks being electrocuted again and dying from it.

Death by Embarassment

We’ve all been embarrassed to the point of wanting to die, but for your sims this is an actual risk. If you stack too many embarrassed moodlets in a row your sim can experience this emotional death.

Death by Fire

Every sims player has started a fire and if your sims don’t escape fast enough they can burn up in the wreckage!

Death by Hysteria

Being playful is fun, but very playful is funner. However, letting it get to the hysterical level will risk your sim laughing themselves to death!

Death by Meteorite

If your sim spends too much time looking through a telescope you can get a warning of a meteor. Ignore that warning and your sim will experience their immediate demise!

Death by Old Age

When a sim lives out their entire life, you’ll get to watch them peacefully accept their fate at the end of their time. This requires your elder sims to live through their entire lives, how adorable!

Death by Overexertion

When an elder exercises they can get an overexerted moodlet. If they continue to do more exercise (or woohoo) they will die from overexertion!

Death by Starvation

You’ll need to care for your sims needs, especially hunger. When a sim’s hunger is neglected long enough they will die from starvation.

DLC Deaths

We get new death types all the time with DLC and they are interesting and weird. Your sim can die from anything from having an angry rodent bite them to dying from mold exposure, there are so many ways for them to go.

Death by Steam (Spa Day)

Spending time in a sauna is relaxing, but too much time can cause a sim to overheat in the sauna. Too much steam can be bad!

Death by Pufferfish Nigiri (City Living)

When a sim eats a new recipe from a food stall they can learn how to cook it. If a sim learns and then cooks poor quality Pufferfish Nigiri they’ll pass away from eating it.

Death by Sunlight (Vampires)

When vampires spend too much time outside in the sun they’ll start to lose vampire energy, if you let it run out completely the sim will burn to death!

Death by Rabid Rodent Fever (My First Pet)

Having a rodent requires a lot of effort to care for it. If your sim neglects their rodent they may get bit and contract Rabid Rodent Fever which can kill a sim if not dealt with.

Death by Poison (Jungle Adventure)

Spending time in the jungle and the temple can be dangerous. If a sim gets poisoned and doesn’t get the antidote in time, they’ll die from their green spots.

Death by Scented Flower Arrangement (Seasons)

This is a death many players may never see. If a sim scents a flower arrangement with a death flower and gifts it to an elder, the elder will die!

Death by Lightning Strike (Seasons)

Spending time outside during a thunderstorm is dangerous. Your sim will obviously get wet, but if they are struck by lightning twice, they’ll die!

Death by Freezing (Seasons)

Going outside in cold weather requires sims to wear their cold weather clothes. A sim who goes out in the wrong clothing will experience a death by freezing where they turn into a literal block of ice.

Death by Overheating (Seasons)

Wearing proper clothing for the weather is important, even virtually. If a sim is dresses inappropriately in the summer they can die from the excessive heat.

Death by The Mother (Strangerville)

If you try and protect the world from The Mother without being truly prepared, your sim can experience death by The Mother in the secret lab.

Death from Spellcaster Overload (Realm of Magic)

Spellcasters need to be aware of their magic usage so they avoid overload. Doing too much magic can cause a spellcaster overload death.

Death by Contributing Knowledge (Discover University)

Contributing knowledge is a good way to make money, but if you do it too much your sim will feel like their brain explodes as they turn into a ghost.

Death by Catastrophic Meltdown (Discover University)

Servos are a cool robot your sim can build to help with their lives but if you neglect their durability, they won’t survive it.

Death by Murphy Bed (Tiny Living Stuff)

If your sim has a Murphy Bed in their home and it malfunctions it will squish them! If they are having an unlucky day they can end up with that being fatal.

Death by Flies (Eco Lifestyle)

Flies? Really? I love this death! This one requires your sim to have overflowing garbage cans that lead to flies appearing and your sim having a bad interaction with them.

Death by Beetle Juice (Eco Lifestyle)

If you know anything about beetle juice you never say it three times… or drink it, in the case of the sims. If a sim farms beetles and turns their nuggets into Beetle Juice and drinks three, they’ll become a ghost!

Death by Vending Machine (Snowy Escape)

Vending machines should be fun, but sometimes the item gets stuck and shaking it can be dangerous. Your sim will either get the item back or be crushed to death.

Death by Mountain Climbing Fall (Snowy Escape)

If a sim goes mountain climbing without being truly prepared they can have a bad fall, and these falls can be the end of their life.

Death by Chicken (Cottage Living)

This death requires your sim to bully a chicken, so they deserve it. It’s a lot easier to make happen if you have an evil chicken which you can get from feeding a chicken a midnight treat.

Death by Rabbit (Cottage Living)

This death requires a sim to bully a rabbit, yes for real. You’ll need to find a wild rabbit in Henford-on-Bagley and do mean or mischief interactions until your sim gets attakced!

Death by Stink Capsule (High School Years)

Planting stink capsules in a locker seems like a fun prank, until it back fires too often and you choke on the fumes. Be careful when trying to prank your fellow students!

Death by Urban Myth (High School Years)

If a teen wants to mess with urban myths and does it too much in a row they can be the victim. This has the teen needing to summon an urban myth with another sim three times in a row.

Death by Broken Heart (Lovestruck)

When a sim has too many bad romantic interactions in a row (i.e., bad dates, failed socials, etc) they can get a sad moodlet that can end in them dying from a broken heart… or choking on chocolate.

Death by Mold (For Rent)

Mold is a rough way to go and with the mold lot challenge your sim can have that awful experience. You’ll really want to play with this ghost too, they can spread their mold and create mushrooms with their breath!

Death by Murder of Crows (Life & Death)

A group of crows is called a murder, so of course, EA added a death by murder of crows. This requires your sim to provoke a crow enough to where they want to attack your sim.

Death by Emotional Starvation (Enchanted by Nature)

When a fairy uses too much of their emotional force they risk dying of starvation. This is a bad way to go as a fairy, so rejuvenate that emotional force as much as you can.

Death by Emotional Overload (Enchanted by Nature)

This death type requires your fairy to use the absorb emotions ability over and over. If your sim absorbs positive emotions they’ll die from laughter and negative emotions cause a death from anger.

Death by Burning Hot Slide (Adventure Awaits)

This isn’t an official death type because it’s considered dying by fire, but I need people to know about this because it’s hilarious. If your sims go down a metal slide from Adventure Awaits during a heatwave from Seasons, they will set on fire and die!
