How to Win The Wool Competition in The Sims 4

If you think your llama produces the best fibres, enter the wool competition to prove it!

This competition happens at The Finchwick Llama Fair that comes with The Sims 4: Cottage Living!

How to Enter the Wool Competition

The wool competition happens at The Finchwick Llama Fair that happens every few weeks on a Saturday. The event occurs from 3:30PM to 9:30PM but you’ll need to be there after 10 for judging.

Before you head to the fair, make sure that you have the specific wool you want to enter in your sim’s inventory so you don’t forget it at home!

When you get to the fair you’ll click on one of the stands with a llama on the icon. You’ll click submit entry and a menu will open where you can click on the exact wool you’d like to enter.

How to Win The Wool Competition in The Sims 4

There are two ways you can increase your likelihood of winning the wool competition. The first is increasing your wool’s quality and the second is changing the colour of the wool (ideally to rainbow).

Entering High Quality Wool

The quality of the wool depends on the happiness of the llama it’s obtained from. This means that you’ll need to have your sim have a high relationship with their llama by doing tons of socializing and keep them well cared for by keeping their home clean, making sure they are fed and keeping their social need high.

Entering Rare Wool

Entering plain wool will not get your sim a first place prize, you’ll need to enter colourful wool to win. You can enter with all sorts of colourful wool but the absolute best option is to enter with gold wool or rainbow wool.

To get your sim to produce gold wool you’ll need to turn your llama into a golden llama by feeding them a golden treat. These animal treats are obtained through gameplay and you can find it by doing the following things:

  • Finishing errands for sims
  • Winning at the Finchwick Fair
  • Trading livestock for animal treats

Once you feed an animal the first golden treat you get you’ll be able to start making them yourself on the fridge! You’ll need to have the following ingredients to make this treat:

  • 1 Golden Egg
  • 1 Cowberry Jam or Honey

You can get golden eggs from happy hens, so care for your chickens and you’ll get a golden egg easily. You can purchase cowberry jam from the garden stall in Finchwick or from a grocery delivery.

Being Judged at the Fair

While you’re at the fair you’ll see the mayor walking around and judging every entry. You can choose to try to bribe the mayor if you want, but this can backfire and your sim can lose because of that.

If you want to win on your own you’ll just wait until the fair is over and everything disappears. You’ll get a notification called Finchwick Fair Competition Result which will tell you how you did.
