How to Get Bonsai Buds in The Sims 4

Having a bonsai tree is a very relaxing thing and you can grow your own with sims 4 bonsai buds!

These little plants can be elusive to many players because there’s specific ways to find them.

How to Get Bonsai Buds in The Sims 4

There are two ways you can get bonsai buds to grow into a bonsai tree. The first way is by purchasing uncommon seed packs and the second is through grafting!

Uncommon Seed Packs

If your sim is at level seven of the gardening skill you’ll be able to purchase uncommon seed packs. In these seed packs you can get all sorts of goodies and the bonsai buds are one of them!

You can purchase these by clicking on a garden pot or planter and choosing purchase seeds, you can find purchase seeds in the order menu on a computer or you can find these seed packets on a computer.

Once you have them you can click on them in your sim’s inventory and choose open seed packet and you’ll get all sorts of plants to grow!

Grafting Other Plants

Grafting is an ability that unlocks at level five of the gardening skill that lets you graft together two plants to get a different one. The interesting thing about bonsai buds is that you can actually get two different pairs of things to create a bonsai bud!

To graft together plants to get sims 4 bonsai buds you’ll need to grow both plants. Then, you’ll click on one and choose take cutting. Then, go over to the other plant and click on it and choose graft and a menu opens and you’ll choose the spliced shoot you just took.

When you do this you’ll get a plant that will let you harvest all three of the plants from one single crop!

The first pair of things that makes bonsai buds is a daisy flower and a strawberry. You can get a daisy in the starter flowers seed packets and a strawberry in the starter fruits seed packets.

The second pair that grafts together as bonsai buds is a rose and a grape. You can get a rose in the uncommon plants seed packets and a grape in the start fruits seed packets.

Turning it into a Bonsai Tree

Once your bonsai plant is fully grown you can click on it and choose Convert to Decorative (ยง25) and this will turn it into a full bonsai tree like the one you can find in build mode.

With a bonsai tree your sim can gain the gardening skill by pruning it into different shapes, which is a fun way to keep your sim’s happy and calm!
